Should I move church to find a mate?

No, I have not decided. It's up to God to open a door.

But why make it a faith issue? do you go to the doctor? Jesus died for your sickness - dont you believe Him? Yeah, God has provided other ways of meeting our needs. There is one body, not millions. No church has a monopoly on truth. There are plenty of churches I could go to.

Anyone have a verse to shed light on this?

because unlike going to the doctor, you can't just go somewhere and pick out a wife - going to the doctor is for the most part, dependant on yourself - finding someone prepared to marry you however, is not usually in your direct control

Brov I am 42 and Ive always been at my church and we have only 20 people! No woman at all or singles at least. i know how you feel. Im at my church because God called me to it in 1985. I have a vision for it. I have been tempted to jack it all in and go else where. Dont worry about the how on earth will meet her etc. God is able to move in any way. i live in the country and one year two young christian woman cycled past (from Holland) and stayed with us two days. The Lord will direct your paths, wait for His time. Seek God first then He will add. We who have to wait a very long time are chosen by God for a special task. Ask the Lord to give you definate HOPE andf ASSURANCE about the matter of a spouse, because with it and with a longing heart you are very vulnerable to attack of the enemy.

Thanks for all your responses. I just wanted some opinion from others, and knowing that I wouldn't get much encouragement to leave from those around me (hopefully!), I asked you here.
God leads and directs despite our best attempts to get our own way, and I have to trust God because there is just no other way.

You are welcomed indeed as we all know how you feel as well as need encouragement ourselves.

How about expanding your range of ministries or activities? Look for multi-church single activities around town. Go help cook at the homeless shelter during the week or go help build a house with Habitat for Humanity on the weekend. You're increasing your chances of finding a kind Christian women over there without having to move to another church.

Also going out if the group you are supposed to be with does something like going out to eat or to shop. Maybe you would find that interesting.
