Sounds like a pretty good plan, but it could take you your entire life to master the drums...

Hmm I guess that will depend on several things you have to look at...

First off, you mentioned you sing and love to sing etc... if you do join or start a band or whatever and are serious about it, are you gonna want to be singing in it? Cuz if you are, then pick up the guitar. You can lead the rest of the band and still sing with a mic... sure, yes, I know people can play drums and sing.. I do it at church.. but for leadin and stuff, its just Meh... you really need someone out on stage front leadin... which with vocals, a guitar works best...

However if you really want to learn tons of stuff about music and really get basics down and have a feel for all music.. take the drums. It will help you so much with rhythm and timin and etc... and I've been playin the drums for 5 years... and when I decided to start playin the guitar, I picked it up NO problem.. and thats cuz I had all i needed in my drummin ability... Anyway, thats my 2 cents..

Be blessed †

Thanks for the info.I am glad that there was only three people or four or whatever that where yelling at me for my siggy and favorite band.We all like different music.I have been telling my mom that I want a drum set for next christmas.I do listen to other bands. They are bands from now and not then.It would be so cool to have a real band and actually go on tour and all.I already have a lead singer out,but I didn`t tell her.I would probaly be lead singer instead.I never singing.I must stop before get trouble at school.I already got yelled at.I am in chorus,so my voice is used alot.

i say guitar because that way you can do you own solo stuff too and chicks that are drummers are great but i do believe if you have a chick in ya band have em up front (not being sexist or anything here) but i do believe if you got a chick up front you will get along more boys following ya

i think you should pick up the bass guitar. Learning how to play the bass will actually teach you how to play guitar at the same time. After you play the bass for a year or two you will see learning the guitar will be much easier , and bass is easy to learn in the first place, its like guitar lite. only 4 strings and only play one at a time is too easy! Sure there will be advanced techniques you can learn if you get really into it, but bass is quite simply easy to play well, and like any instrument quite difficult to play extremely well. The drums would also be easy to learn, but if you want to use your voice it would really affect the rythm of your melodies if you try to sing and play at the same time, not that it cant be done, just not worth the effort, leave the singing to the guitarists. Drums are easy to pick up and play, but once again hard to master. So seriously, take up the bass cause you want to sing, then in a couple years pick up and acoustic and just teach yourself how to play the whole time. The internet is a great source for learning too. So thats my advice

This,RF&BFF.I just started a band.We have a keyboarder, two guitarist, and a drummer. The guitarists are going to take turns being the lead singer.I am one of the guitarist.Should we be called Black Dice or Pink perpose?I like Black Dice, but none of my friends like it.

How about the Black & Pink Porpoise Dice? You could have some leaping dolphins as your mascots, one pink and one black, with some little dice tattooed on their fins...
