I'm thinking about getting a box set with all the books in The Chronicles of Narnia in it. I just wonder if they're written for a younger audience, I mean I remember my mom reading one or two of them to me in elementary school. Has anyone read them recently? And if so what did you think? I did read the Hobbit and the three Lord of the Rings books not too long ago, and enjoyed those. I thought that since I liked the Lord of the Rings I might like The Chronicles of Narnia.

YES. Get the books, they are all good.

Its an awesome investment for your kids. LOL. I would go with The Lion, Witch Wardrobe one first though if you are planning on introducing a child to it.

I have read the Chronicles of Narnia like crazy lately. I have read "Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe" at least 5 times. But I began to read the others-- I just started "The Silver Chair" I have two top favorites so far-- "The Horse and his boy" and "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader". Although, I am not through reading the last two, so it may change. Although these stories were written for children--they are in no means limited to children. Like for example "The Hobbit". You really get memorized by the greatness of Aslan and you just learn so much about God through this character. They are wonderful- C.S. Lewis probably my favorite author!!!

I am one os these guys who reads a lot, and rather would sit and read a book than watch Television. So when I have children, I definitely will read "The Chronicles of Narnia" to them. My suggestion is try to find the big one volume that has all the stories in one book. It is definitely a good buy. I bought it for about $21.00-- If I bought all the books individually I would have spent at least twice as much.

On the side note, Lord of the Rings is very similair but takes forever for me to read! I have read every one of them except the last one. I like the Chronicles of Narnia for the sheer fact that I can sit down and read one of the books like in 2 hours.
