Perhaps you should have a look at my posts on this thread. I think I have paid 'the other poster' as much attention as his preposterous posts warrant.Hmm so the other poster comments are on the issue is fine?
Alone other than Iran, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Yemen, Somalia, Nigeria, Brunei, Mauritanian. Cities on hills, all of them.
Ugada...Uganda...A voice in the wilderness stands alone with the entire world against them.
I admire Uganda for this.

Those are the other countries where homosexuality is a capital crime. Wouldn’t want them to miss out on your admiration.
FYI, wanting gay people to have rights does not make you gay.Really? So...the entire world is not gay. That's encouraging!
FYI, wanting gay people to have rights does not make you gay.
I think making homosexuality illegal is a great idea but I don’t support a death penalty for it. The death penalty takes away a sinner’s ability to repent, I’d much rather give them the opportunity to repent and be saved than forever condemn them to the lake of fire. Here's a video explaining the situation
Should all Christians support this legislation and support Uganda on this matter?
The “fruit” mentioned in Matthew 7 is not children, it’s works that result from listening to Jesus Christ and doing what He said to do.Wow so many gays or gay sympathizers here. I shouldn't have expected that. I have to side with Uganda on this. What an example that nation is showing!
It used to be a capital crime in the US. Not sure what happened there but not my fault, I'll tell you that, lol.
Scripture agrees with Uganda too. Scripture says by their fruits you will know them (God's people), and the thing is, no gay people can have any fruit/children so that activity is obviously wrong and to be rejected in whole.
Confessing to having homosexual thoughts would that be deemed illegal? What threshold would you set? I think what people feel towards each other is not your business, and certainly not the state's business.I think making homosexuality illegal is a great idea but I don’t support a death penalty for it.
A person should have to repent of their homosexual ways before becoming a minister. That is fine for those who want to follow that guidance. Those who have different beliefs should be free to exercise them. That is fundamental to a democratic society. Avowed Christian people who like to use the Scriptures in this way should ponder on the actual scriptures. The Gospels, in my opinion, should trump the Old Testament, else what is the point of Christianity? They have absolutely nothing to say on the subject.
There are many observant gay Christians and gay Muslims in America and in my own country. Some are ordained ministers.
Do you really want to kill gay people? Perhaps a look at why your country and mine learned to tolerate sexual differences would help you come to another view?
No I never said anything about thoughts, I was referring to actually partaking in homosexual activityConfessing to having homosexual thoughts would that be deemed illegal? What threshold would you set? I think what people feel towards each other is not your business, and certainly not the state's business.
Christians here have claimed it is God's business. That still does not entitle the state to interfere.
How?I think it does.
Textbook example of Poe's Law here. I genuinely have no idea if you're trolling or serious. If you are being serious, please get some help - this level of descent into conspiracy theories is unhealthy.I think it does. The gays want to come to power. Maybe Uganda saw the writing on the wall and took a National stance against them?
So why would (so-called) non gays want the gays in power? At this stage it's, oh please accept us for who we are, you're Christians so be loving to us...
Then after they get their foot in the door and come to power, then they will close the door and say, ok now you will bow your knee to our God or face consequences...!!
Like was said, most christians are willling to accept the gays even into the church. After a majority is in membership then they weed out the real Christians and push them out of the church.
Any of you guys ever heard of Ishtar? Molec? Baal?
You can keep your god if you so choose, but I wont. Yay Uganda!!
Why? Are Paul’s words not the word of God? But if you insist I could quote Matthew 7:21-27A person should have to repent of their homosexual ways before becoming a minister.
“It is a trustworthy statement: if any man aspires to the office of overseer, it is a fine work he desires to do. An overseer, then, must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, prudent, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not addicted to wine or pugnacious, but gentle, peaceable, free from the love of money. He must be one who manages his own household well, keeping his children under control with all dignity (but if a man does not know how to manage his own household, how will he take care of the church of God?),”
1 Timothy 3:1-5 NASB1995
So it is not homosexuality itself that requires punishment, only homosexual activity. That is now clear, thank you.No I never said anything about thoughts, I was referring to actually partaking in homosexual activity
Nah, not a word about the subject there. Or anywhere in the Gospels. Why? Are Paul’s words not the word of God? But if you insist I could quote Matthew 7:21-27
““Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’ “Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.””
Matthew 7:21-27 NASB1995
I already stated that I do not support the death penalty for homosexuality. I do think it should be illegal but I don’t think it should be punishable by death. So it is not homosexuality itself that requires punishment, only homosexual activity. That is now clear, thank you.
Men holding hands in the street? You find it happens quite a lot in some cultures.
Men living together?
Or is it just buggery that deserves to be punished? I think that is what some people who have posted on this thread are alluding to. It was illegal in the UK and punishable by death until 1861. Buggery between consenting adult males was made legal in 1967. You want to go back to how it was before 1967?
Why?
Then you clearly know nothing of Christ’s words.Nah, not a word about the subject there. Or anywhere in the Gospels.
