Fully intended to offend: your idolatry and that of so many others who say they love Christ sickens me.

And here someone goes again thinking they are doing God a favor by outthinking Him while disobeying Him.

Romney worships a false god. I don't get any farther than that with him. He ain't benefiting Christ at all by worshipping a false god.

The mission of the church better be to keep Christ FIRST and thereby living in obedience.

How does supporting a candidate who worships a false god do this?

Be not easily offended brother. I was going to vote for Perry until yesterday, now I don't know what I am going to do. I do not believe that I am doing God a favor, and I am definitley not going to out think Him. I realize that God knows what is going to happen and while it might not be what I think needs to happen, I also realize that He knows best. Your attempt to offend me with an accusation is unsuccessful, but it is a harsh accusation to level against someone you have never met and can not see into my heart. I believe that you should leave this kind of judgment to God and Him alone.

In my previous post, I was offering up a hypothetical.Sometimes God sends along a way out and we are too "high and mighty" to take it because we think we should get something better from Him. That is trying to outthink God.

When we as Christians stand on the sidelines and do nothing to further the gospel in America, then we are just as guilty as those who actively seek to destroy the church. Obama and his brand will lead us into a totalitarian government that hates the gospel and seeks to replace it with government.

Once again, I do not know what I am going to do come November, but with a lot of prayer and studying God's Word, I will decide. I suggest you do the same.

So voting for a non-Christian is disobedience to God? I must have missed that verse when I read through the Bible. Where exactly does God command those of us under the New Covenant to only elect Christians for our leaders?

As Christians, we are His ambassadors (2 Corinthians 5:20), and we are called to stand in the gap imploring the world to be reconciled with God. Jude equated us as firefighters "snatching" people from the flames.

How can you possibly be that, which we are called to be in Scripture, and yet vote for someone opposed to every part of that? How can you defend the rights of the unborn, yet think abortion shouldn't be an issue in an election? How can you speak out against homosexuality, and yet vote for someone who is okay with gay marriage. Homosexuality is God's Abandonment Judgment on a nation that rejects Him as Creator (Romans 1), and it was the public condoning of it that caused the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.

To say you care about something while not voting for a candidate who shares that is hypocritical. We are the Light of the World (Matthew 5:14) and are to have NO fellowship with the darkness (2 Corinthians 6:14)...saying one thing while voting for a candidate who doesn't even believe in Yehovah is having fellowship with darkness.

Mr. JG forgive me if it came across too harshly. But when offering up hypotheticals, identify them as such please:groupray: I just don't understand why so many Christians take issue with abortion and gay marriage and a lot of other stuff, but not too many seem to have an issue with this man worshipping another god.

It just greatly concerns me

You obviously missed me saying that too as I did not.^_^

But as a Christian it makes no sense to speak to anyone about anything else if we can't even get on the same page that there should be no other gods before God. And that's rather hard to do when supporting someone who worships another god.

Where under the old or new covenant does he tell anyone to support a god that is not Him?

There are other gods...they are the fallen angels...but there is only One TRUE God, as in the Creator, and that is Yehovah. Apollo is the Antichrist and he is currently bound in the bottomless pit awaiting to be released. He was first bound by the archangel Raphael for the corruption back in the days of Noah, along with the other group of 200 from before the flood. This is recorded through Daniel, both Peter's letters, Jude, Revelation, and the book of Enoch as well... And the ancient mythologies are corruptions of this primitive truth. Exodus also describes the Lord being above the other gods (i.e. fallen angels) and he stretched out his right hand and the earth swallowed them (i.e. the Titans bound in Tartarus) (Exodus 15:11-12; 2 Peter 2:4).

I will take your advice on hypothetical scenarios and do so in the future.

Believe me when I say that I have a big problem with Romney's faith and the beliefs of the Mormons. I believe them to be a cult. That is why I am seeking wisdom from God about this election. I believe it to be too important not to vote. I would urge you to do pray with me about this election.

Thanks

I believe that the best candidate isn't always the christian, believe it or not.

sadly I agree.

The Christian may actually be sincere and mean well but may lack the experience and knowledge!

If all things were equal, then I would gladly chose the Christian :)

I'll probably do as I did during the last election and just write a candidate in.^_^

What? Apollo is the antichrist and Raphael bound him up? Man, I've been studying scripture and debating these topics for a lot of years but I don't think I've heard that one before.^_^^_^

So wait... you all do realize that none of these politicians actually care about any sort of faith at all, right?

I guarantee you that their decisions are not based on what they believe God wants. And that goes for any candidate.

In this case, you base your decisions on their policies and past then let God handle the rest. Because we all know their hearts are just as evil as ours.

Having been involved in politics for a few years of my life I can tell you by experience that all of them are after nothing but power. That is what politicians do. They don't need money because if they have power they can control the money. If they control the money they control most of the electorate. It makes no difference which party they belong to all are the same in the end. They just want power and will say whatever it takes to get it.

Now that being said we also need to remember that all of them answer to us. They know that and never forget it. That is why their re-election is always the foremost thought in their minds. Writing to your Congressmen, Senators and Presidents is the most powerful tool you can use apart from your vote. Let them know that you will not be voting for them again and they will bow to the will of the people just to keep the power that they have.

As far as I am concerned I believe we need to vote any politician out of office who has been there more than 2 terms for Senator and 3 terms for Congressman. The President already has a term limit.

The idea sounds good, but it isn't always practical. What happens if you love your current Senator, and he is running for the third time and the guy running against him is completely wrong on all the critical issues? Do we throw the good guy out just because he has already served two terms and replace him with the bad candidate?

Term limits work great because once the guy has served his two (or three) terms, then we get the choice of two (at least!) candidates the next time around. Most likely, one has simillar beliefs as the old one, and the other guy would be the opposite. But when voting someone out of office just because he's been there too long for our tastes and replacing him with someone wrong for the job... Well, that doesn't sound like a good idea to me.

There are enough Christians in this country to elect whom ever they want, IF they would get out and vote, from the local elections up!
We have what we earned through our apathy and it looks like we're getting ready to do it again :( We get fired up *after* an election with how it should have gone and lament the missed opportunity but then develop amnesiac apathy in the following months and years until the next election that forces itself into our living rooms on the MSM. Most of us pay no attention to the political scene between Presidential elections unless something either gets enough press to make it to the 5p news or we hear about something that might negatively effect our wallets.

What do you think would happen if the Christians in this country stopped voting their own pocket book/pay check and actually voted G-dly morals and biblical ethics?
