I agree but I just don't like the "term" moderate. It sounds too luke warm to me. Here is a thread I started I'm not moderate.. let me know what you think about what I wrote. Take care and God bless.

I agree with you, I always labelled myself conservative because I agree with alot of conservative views but I hated the way that some conservative christians/churches have no flexabilly within there beliefs and doctrines and I struggled to identify with all aspects of that label, but I can now with a good conciense label myself moderate while like you said having passion in my more conservative beliefs as well as not worrying about my less conservative views.

What blew me away after joining CF was conservative groups evan within their own denominations that are not in communion with each other. I mean how many different ways did the Lord communicate that He wanted us His disciples to be one as He and the Father are one.

It dosen't do any good to have your theological ducks in a row if they are headed in the wrong direction.

Welcome to CF! I get a giggle out of your last comment; you are in England, so you see the issues of your local Church (referring to Anglicans) in more detail than other churches. But when you look close enough at any Church there seems to be the same level of division. Right now there is a major split within Catholic congregations right in the US mid-west being discussed in their sub-forum, over the stance on same sex marriage, as just one example. The participants in the thread are about evenly split on each side, with no one willing to budge an inch. I use this as an example because this has long been a prominent issue within Anglican Churches, but we might expect solidarity on this from Catholics.

Anyway, "let your moderation be known unto all men" is still part of my Bible

 Hi!

Yes your right, every church has it's issues, it is amazing how much disagreement there really is, you would think people who followed a certain denomination regardless of which one it is wouldn't always be doing that.

I agree in the fact the Church is full of divisive and backbiting behavior, but it is not just within the conservative arena. It is a Bride wide issue.

I like that verse. Here it is in two different translations.

Philippians 4:5

New King James Version (NKJV)

5 Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.

Philippians 4:5

King James Version (KJV)

5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

Jesus is always very approachable in my way of knowing Him.
If that sounds moderate, then i like the "gentleness" version.
Thanks Tigger for that one.
He will be there at all times when we cry in sorrow or jump for joy.
Never doubting that Jesus will encourage everyone to be the best person they can.
Warns us of danger when sin whispers in the ear. Shows how to avoid pitfalls in life.
Helps us meet others who love to share the gospel. Can't find a better friend.
