  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

My beagle attacks my trash bag of used pads & tampon applicators.. I've put the trash can high, used seperate trash cans.. the most effective thing I've done was hang a trash bag on the door for that time of month until it was done, then throw it out.. but sometimes she'll still attack it during those times.

Anyone else have this problem? What did you do to stop it?

I don't want to punish her because she deserves too much respect, but I'm afraid of her getting hurt by her actions too

you could try using some bitter apple spray to spray in your trash can. or what works even better is citronella spray. it's completely non-toxic, but dogs HAAATTE the smell of it, while it actually smells pretty good to us humans. you should be able to get it at any specialty dog store, or a place like petco or petsmart. the citronella spray has proven so successful, that some behaviorists actually use it to break up dog fights -- dogs hate it that much. but again, it's completely safe and should definitely keep her away from your trash.

(i have a beagle, too, but she's a mini -- too short and chubby to get into the trash, even though she's tried. hee hee.)

My beagle does the same unless I spray the can with Lysol dysinfectant spray. Beagles have an extremely advanced sense of smell, typical for a hound dog. Spray the inside of the bag before you start using it and then spray the outside of the bag when its full.
