She was a new student. She had to leave her old life and start all over somewhere new, with her real Father whom she had just moved in with. She was not like the rest of them. She never grew up in the upper class lifestyle.
Her school was full of them. You know, the rich kids.
So, she started her first day. As time went by she made new friends. They welcomed her with open arms. New friends, new teachers, and new counselor. It was great. They hung out with her and made her feel welcome.
Then they learned where she was from. She was not like them. Her background and past reputation caught up to her. And they treated her wrong for it. They weren't too mean about it. But when they ignored her and shut her out, she figured out why. And she was dissapointed. She believed they were her friends. She even believed her Father let her down.
So she dropped out. She ran away from home. She got into drugs and seeked friends eleswhere. She felt empty again. So she got a boyfriend. And she got pregnant.
Her Father called her and told her it was time to return home and go back to school. She didn't want to because the students and faculty had hurt her. Her Father told her it was not his fault they treated her so badly. He missed her and wanted her to come home.
So she realized she was wrong. She ran away from her dad who loved her and it was not he who made her feel bad. She went home with her Father and back to school. When her old friends saw her back they still ignored her. It was never the same.
The school was her church. The students were the congregation(not all but those she knew). Her Father was God. And she was ME.
*I feel that sometimes we as the body of Christ might miss that somebody might be in trouble or hurt. I encourage everyone who may read this to embrace a backsliden(or whatever term you call it) child of God. When you see them leave church and then come back after a long time. Don't think they are a bad influence of you spiritualy. If you are right with God then God should let you know by his spirit if they are. Don't just assume whatever you feel like assuming. Many flee from Christianity when treated this way. I was fortunate that God has a reason to make it so I came back. Whatever my calling may be I'm sure it's a great one. (they all are). But some are not as fortunate. They slip away so far and people look at them and think "I better stay away from him/her". It's hard to go to church and see a "clique" all the time and the don't even say hi. Sometimes we get lonely and when we have given up our old ways and friends; we have nothing to do on weekends or holidays. When we are ignored....the "enemy" knows we are hurt and weak. So he comes knocking at our door through old friends and habits that embrace us when our fellow Christians didn't.
Now I know there are some who purposely are double minded or playing "church". I don't speak of them. I speak of those that are spoken of in the song "If we are the Body".*
