she had an abortion!

im trying to post this in a few different forums. yesterday a good friend of mine told me that last week she found out she was 3 weeks pregnant, and that she had an abortion that weekend. her aunt took her, and told her that an abortion would be the best thing to do. please pray that God would open both of their eyes so they can realize what they did was horribly wrong and to ask for forgiveness.

I'm so sorry to hear that. Unfortunatly my wife (long before I met her) was raped and ended up having an abortion. She was a Christian, and didn't feel like she could even tell her parents she was raped. Long story short, God is the God of second chances and has not only used me, but our baby boy to heal and restore my wife. Granted, she is not proud of what she did, but God has already used her to minister to other young women who are stuggling with the same thing.

Anyway, the best thing you can do for your friend is to love her, be Jesus' hands and feet to her.

Does anybody know what the law is in regards miners? I know that they can't get an abortion unless a parent accompanies them. But what if the miner does not want an abortion, and the parent does?

her aunt signed as her mother. its not that she was scared to tell her mom either, her mom knows she has sex, its just that her mom is going through a divorce, and she said that now wasnt the best time to tell her mom but she would later. and its not that she didnt want an abortion either, she's not against it in certain cases such as teen pregnancy, so i doubt that it was her aunt that talked her into it, but she certainly didnt help matters any, bc if it werent for her, my friend couldnt have gotten one.

That's really sad that she would get an abortion because it was most convient.

I've been doing research on Tennessee laws.

No person in TN can be forced to get an abortion. A an unemancipated miner can petition for an abortion if the parents refuse to sign. The judge must rule in 48hrs, and automatically grant an appeal. The new hearing must be in 5 days. All of this takes precedance over other court hearings and trials. The minor does not have to pay any court costs either.

This makes me so sad.
because i do not understand how they can justify it, if they dont want the baby, have it and put it up for adoption for all these infertile couples on waiting lists.

I mean, we have these ppl desperate for a baby and they cant have one, and we have all these women/girls getting pregnant that dont want to keep them...

it only makes sense.

no doubt this girl will feel the grief of what she has done......
it may not be now, it may take a while....
but she will feel it.

and btw why is she evenhaving unprotected sex to begin with??
CONDOMS! you cant have unprotected sex with people you arent married to (wel. you shouldnt have sex period outside marriage morally)

There are diseases out there taht can kill you and that will last a life time.....

How great that your friend trusts you with something this personal. She must really love you as a friend!

The first thing to do is to let her know that God loves her and isn't mad at her.

Then just be there for her like you would be if she had gotten pregnant and lost the baby due to miscarriage. When a person has an abortion, they have to go through a mourning period just like they would as if they had wanted the baby and lost it. Sooner or later, every woman I know who had an abortion realized that she had been carrying a real baby and had to mourn its death even though she had ended the pregnancy through her own choice.

And just about every woman I know who had an abortion was talked into it by a boyfriend, husband, mother, aunt or other person, and they have to forgive that person eventually, too.

Is she a Christian? Because if she isn't, this might be a good time to tell her about the love and forgiveness of Christ.
