Shaving arms

ok. why don't ppl shave their arms? hairy arms are soooo yucky to me but nobody seems to mind them. just seems a little strange to me.

I shave and sometimes wax my arms, although hairs grow back thicker when shaved :/

yeah... i just let mine grow back after shaving them for about a year. but i hate the way they look. yuck.

I've used an epilulator thingie on my arms a couple times... meh, arm hair is fine to me. Sweat doesn't collect and cause odur... like arm pit hair does. My friend shaves her arms... feels so cool when they are smooth, but gross when there's a little stuble... and the hair seems darker and thicker. *shrugs* Couldn't shave my arms.

I agree - the "stuble factor" is why I don't shave mine.

I shave my arms but I do them every 3 days so that I don't get stubble. I just dislike body hair in general but I have red hair so it shows up so I have to do it.

Well, first my legs aren't as visible as my arms are. You have to really look to see stubble on legs - arm stubble would be more obvious. Plus IMO it would just be odd to have stumble on my arms; on the legs it's expected because most women shave them.

If you shave the hairs grow back thicker and corser then before. Also, I guess it depends on your hair color....I have blonde hair and light skin so it doesn't look to gross.

IMHO quite a few girls *do* shave their arms (or wax or whatever). I epilate mine and so does my sister - to me, having body hair is gross!

eeek! So much shaving. I have very dark/thick arm hair and I was tempted to shave them when I was a teenager, but I was afraid of making it worse! I'm glad I didn't. If you are really worried, why not try bleaching?

dont shave your arms gal...the hair grows thicker..it happened to me...and now i've just stopped shaving...i have to go n wax it soon..its so thick that it bothers me..lol..

Shaving causes nicks, cuts, and ingrown hairs. I don't know how pleasant that would be to look at either.

Your post was slightly insensitive to those of us who do have dark arm hair. I'm Italian which has it's benefits (thick head hair, for example), but of course there's the down side, more visible hair on the body. And frankly, unless you want another beauty regime to deal with constantly, there's not much you can do about it aside from accept yourself as God made you.

There's gotta be a God-ordained purpose for those things on the arms. Though, I have to shave what little hair on my arms for bike races.
