  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I saw Shaun Groves for the first time last night... he spent a good chunk of time in the middle of the show spewing some bad history and anti-American propaganda.

I keep repeating myself... but here is another CCMer who can't get off the "the-church-doesn't-love-enough" bandwagon. No word on the church not preaching the gospel, just more self-righteous, essentially unbiblical nonsense based on a Marxist view of history.

His ignorance of world history, of the Bible and of church history was glaring, but I'm afraid that the young people at the concert could have been easily duped...

He attacked capitalism, but I noticed that he still had a merchandise table and was charging $10 a CD. I wanted to just go and pick a few and start to walk away, just to see how they'd react... but my wise wife wouldn't let me!

:)

hmmm never her dof them

He's on Rocketown Records and had a song on the WOW 2002 compilation disc. He's a minor star at best. He toured with Bebo Norman and has had a couple of minor "hits".

He condemned the flag of the nation that "dropped the bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki"...

Shaun... dude... you tour and play music for a living... for that you might want to be thankful for all those who died to preserve that right for you... if there is an industry that is more capatalistic than the music industry, I'm not familiar with it.

that stinks that he does saying that junk, i enjoy a couple of his songs

It would also "stink" if the Germans, Soviets or Japanese got the bomb before we did!

A guy who gets to play guitar for a living, ought to appreciate that!

I've seen Shaun Grove live before with Jennifer Knapp and Jars of Clay. He didn't go into anything about capitalism, but he wasn't on stage long, it was just when he had come out with that one song "After the Music Fades". What he really talked about was the meaning of his songs and one of them was about this girl who had been raped by a pastor twice and had two abortions. That might have something to do with his anti-establishment, but I don't know. Kinda bummed he would say those things, I like him as an artist.
