Any new Christian is going to be reflecting upon their lives, the barrage of things that have happened to them, the myriad of the world, that's still permutating throughout them, the holy spirit is working dilligently through them upon.
The task is a daunting, radically changing, internal personal experience, it's also something many want to share to others around them, and they don't because they aren't learned enough, because they don't have the skills to merely talk about the subject among their peers, ie. shy or what not, they feel insecure about exposing themselves, out of fear they will no longer fit in, or any number of reasons. It's all an excuse though, and here's why, the one that's in you, he will guide you strengthen you, and will help you persevere in the face of adversity, no matter what it is, even facing death itself.
The key here, don't bite off more then you can chew, keep it simple, and if someone wants some serious questions answered, send them onto an expert. Your roll is not only to merely show through example, it's to share this gift, freely to all that are around you. It's not something needing to be prodded, if it's real, it's not, and any mandate you to do that through some place, as a new believer especially, stay away from.
Merely talk to who you are around, mention at the end of the conversation, you'll keep them in your prayers, adding onto it a God bless you is a bonus, but not necessary. They will see, this is a normal, real down to earth person, ... and they believe in God.
There will be conversations about God brought up, but they will be the ones bringing them up, which opens the door to share your personal experiences. They will love the fact, you aren't all preachy, and you will want to have a notepad to take down more questions., to relay to someone you trust that has the word down and is living in the way "not of the world", a good christian should live. Not saying they have to be perfect, just saying, it's a way of life, not some fad, or group you are trying to fit into.
The new stuff, you guys deal with, allow your peers to help and use them as an example, do not ever think you are going to just get up to their personal level. I've held fellowship with people that barely got it, and fellowship with people that were very, very advanced, and both were suffering from the same life struggles. It's not a bad thing at all here, we are very much still learning, and those of us that have managed to memorize the bible, realize we have so very much more to learn, and those that have not, some times become our teachers from time to time as well. It's the same Holy Spirit that guides both of us. This is less about academics, as much as how one is willing to trust in the Lord, open ones heart to the Lord, and Let his wisdom, guidance, and direction, lead us along a firm path and direct manner in our lives. Sure, we have free will, but it's honestly far safer, and you have more peace of mind, if you let him have the reigns at least once in a while.
The key here, simply trust him, follow his ways, and do directly through scripture. Do not deviate from it, in any manner, no matter how hard the pressure is going to be, just stick with it, and watch what happens. If you do, you will be utterly amazed!
