David sure showed us in the Psalms that we can pour our heart out before the Lord. How do the Psalms speak to you? Do you have any favorite verses? Feel free to share? I'll start with one of my favorites. Blessings to each of you ... n hz name!

I like the book of Psalms. I wish I would spend more time reading Psalms. After my divorce, Psalms 31 was my prayer many times. There are quite a few Psalms that I really like.

This is exactly what I mean about pouring our heart out, whether in sorrow or praise. Isn't it wonderful how we can use God's word in prayer!

Psalms are my favorite book of the bible after John. And my favorite psalm is 139:

Psa 139:1 O LORD , you have searched me
and you know me.
Psa 139:2 You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
Psa 139:3 You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
Psa 139:4 Before a word is on my tongue
you know it completely, O LORD .
Psa 139:5 You hem me in-behind and before;
you have laid your hand upon me.
Psa 139:6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.
Psa 139:7 Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
Psa 139:8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
Psa 139:9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
Psa 139:10 even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.
Psa 139:11 If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,"

All the days ordained for me

How vast is the sum of them!
Psa 139:18 Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand.
When I awake,
I am still with you.
Psa 139:19 If only you would slay the wicked, O God!
Away from me, you bloodthirsty men!
Psa 139:20 They speak of you with evil intent;
your adversaries misuse your name.
Psa 139:21 Do I not hate those who hate you, O LORD ,
and abhor those who rise up against you?
Psa 139:22 I have nothing but hatred for them;
I count them my enemies.
Psa 139:23 Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
Psa 139:24 See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.

I love the psalms...they really can speak for me when I cannot find my own words.

Lord, you have assigned me my portion and my cup;
you have made my lot secure.
The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
surely I have a delightful inheritance.

I will praise the Lord,

even at night my heart instructs me.

I have set the Lord before me. Because he is at my right hand,

I love the Psalms.....for exactly the reason all of you do. It is sweet fellowship indeed to find others who find solace in the freedom we have to pour out our hearts like david did.

~ Psalm 34:8-10 ~ Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him. Fear the LORD, you his saints, for those who fear him lack nothing. The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.

Knowing the Lord is like the sweetness of honey, the warmth of a summer breeze, and the comfort of hot chocolate on a cold day - all rolled into one! His goodness surrounds us as we draw near to Him. His strength upholds us and keeps us safe, as we come - trusting, and leaning into Him.

I find, that when i have those times when i really cannot pick up my Bible, and reading it seems to become a chore, i can pick a number between 1 and 100, read that psalm, and then, bingo, i'm reminded of another bit in the Bible, and then another, and then I'm back on board with the Lord!!

But on a more serious note, i love psalm 121, and at the moment, psalm 46 seems pretty cool.

I love psalms...here are a few of my favourite verses.

As for God, his way is perfect;
the word of the Lord is flawless.

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.

Being a nature lover, I am blessed to be living in one of the most beautiful provinces in Canada. God's glory is all around me in the mountains, the trees, the fresh air, and streams. Everywhere in the world, you can see the touch of the Master's handiwork, no matter what the landscape.

Psalm 1:1-2 ~

Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.

​

I have found no greater joy than to walk with the Lord and learn the wisdom of His Word. I see the difference in myself - in my attitude, outlook, and discernment - when I choose to spend too much time with those who don't believe, and I must say, I like the me in Christ much more.​

I often feel despised, despite my best intentions and attempts to be patient, forgiving, and caring towards others. There are times when I'm having trials in the realm of personal relationships, and turning to the psalms always encourages me to remember God and love others from a position of doing what pleases God. Recently, Psalm 57 really spoke to me. It encourages me that I don't have to perfectly get along with and please other people in order for God to love me and have a plan for my life.

for in you my soul takes refuge.

I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings

rebuking those who hotly pursue me;

God sends his love and his faithfulness.



4 I am in the midst of lions;

I lie among ravenous beasts-

men whose teeth are spears and arrows,

whose tongues are sharp swords.



5 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;

let your glory be over all the earth.



6 They spread a net for my feet-

I was bowed down in distress.

They dug a pit in my path-

but they have fallen into it themselves.
