  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

And Miriam answered them:

"Sing unto the Lord,
For He has triumphed gloriously!
The horse and its rider
He has thrown into the sea!"

1 Corinthians 15:12-14 . . .
Since we preach that Christ rose from the dead,
why are some of you saying there will be no
resurrection of the dead? For if there is no
resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not
been raised either. And if Christ was not raised,
then all our preaching is useless, and your trust
in God is useless.

If Christ had not defeated death there would
be no hope for you or me. The fact that Christ
did come back to life is the central message
and purpose of Jesus.

Better is the end of a thing than its beginning, and patient in spirit is better than proud in spirit.

Be not quick in your spirit to become angry, for anger lodges in the bosom of fools.

Eph.6[12] For we are not contending against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 . . .
All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful
to teach us what is true and to make us
realize what is wrong in our lives.
It straightens us out and teaches us to do
what is right. It is God’s way of preparing
us in every way, fully equipped for every
good thing God wants us to do.

Reading and studying the Bible
is one of the ways God prepares
us for whatever he has in store for us.

Deuteronomy 20:1 When you go out to battle against your enemies and see horses and chariots and people more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, who brought you up from the land of Egypt, is with you.

2 When you are approaching the battle, the priest shall come near and speak to the people.

3 He shall say to them, 'Hear, O Israel, you are approaching the battle against your enemies today. Do not be fainthearted. Do not be afraid, or panic, or tremble before them,

4 for the LORD your God is the one who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.' , do not be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, who brought you up from the land of Egypt, is with you.

Horses and chariots symbolize our enemy, or any obstacle we face. Note how it is phrased, "more numerous than you." How many of us have faced, or are facing things so big that it is as an army more numerous than us? Notice the command, "Do not be afraid of them." Why? Because the Lord who brought us out of darkness and into the light (remember, we are living in the NT) is with us.

Just as the priest did then, our priest approaches us as we head into battle. We know from Hebrews Jesus is our High Priest, who has already defeated the enemy, making a show of him openly, as written in Colossians.

I hear the Lord Himself through the written Word say this to us,
Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.] Be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.] And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

Thank You Jesus!!!!!

The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty;

He will save,

He will rejoice over thee with joy;

He will rest in His love,

He will joy over thee with singing.

Revelation 2:2-4

"I know your deeds and your toil and perseverance......, you have perseverance and have endured for My Name's sake, and have not grown weary. But.., I have this against you, that you have left your First Love."

Jesus desires that we make Him our First Love, even before our toiling and service and endurance. Our earthly assignments and service cannot replace our First Love!

Amen!

John 2:18-22 - The Jews then said to him, "What sign have you to show us for doing this?" Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up." The Jews then said, "It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days?" But he spoke of the temple of his body. When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this; and they believed the scripture and the word which Jesus had spoken. (RSV)

Ezekiel 18:5-9 . . .
Suppose a certain man is just and
does what is lawful and right, and
he has not feasted in the mountains
before Israel’s idols or worshiped
them. And suppose he does not
commit adultery. . . .
Suppose he is a merciful creditor . . .
and does not rob the poor but
instead gives food to the hungry
and provides clothes for people
in need. And suppose he grants
loans without interest, stays
away from injustice, is honest
and fair when judging others,
and faithfully obeys my laws
and regulations. Anyone who
does these things is just and
will surely live, says the
Sovereign Lord.

"Justice, righteousness, mercy,
honesty, fairness, and faithfulness
are essential traits of godly character".

Galatians 5:22-23 . . .
When the Holy Spirit controls our lives,
HE will produce this kind of fruit in us:
Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness,
Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness,
and Self-Control.
