  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Our Reverence for GOD should keep us from sinning.

Leviticus 22:32 . . . “Do not treat my Holy Name as common and ordinary.
I must be treated as holy by the people of Israel.
It is I, the LORD, who makes you Holy.”

Respect for GOD means that we show reverence for HIS Name.

Amen amen amen!!!

I know somewhere in there it also says, "God will not hold him guiltless who takes His Name in vain."

I always am reminding my kids not to say, Oh my G--.....that Really bothers me.

EP.4:32 - Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you. :)

That is one of my favorite verses.

Awesome posts here, every one!

I posted this elsewhere, but I think it fits here too!

You know what, last night when I opened my Bible, the words I first saw were these;

Numbers 10:36
Return, oh LORD of the ten thousand thousands of Israel.

Then a bit later, when I read the devotional for Monday...it led me to 1Thessalonians. In the preface notes, it said,

"It is significant that every chapter in 1Thessalonians ends with reference to the second coming of Christ....Paul wanted them to be ready for Christ's coming, to live in a way that reflects the work of the Holy Spirit in their lives, enabling them to control their bodies so that they will continue to be pleasing to God.
The book of 1 Thessalonians reminds us that it is easy to take an extreme position regarding the end times...either to become obsessed with them, speculating on dates and events... or to be skeptical and disregard it all. Paul shows us, however, that we are called to believe and be ready."

Matthew 4:19-20 . . .
JESUS called out to them,
“Come, be my disciples, and I will show you how to fish for people!”
And they left their nets at once and went with HIM.

Commitment to follow CHRIST requires
a Decision of the Mind followed by an Act of the Will.

James 5:16

16Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

God doesn't randomly forgive sins or give blanket indulgences. If owning of sins will precure forgiveness, first there must be a recognition of to the congregation so that the recognised sins can be prayed for. The righteous prayers are effective for the unrighteous and will buy a second chance before eternity.

[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore. "Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.

"But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into.

"Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not expect Him.

According to the Bible,
our Purpose is to be
Inspired by a Vision
as to how GOD can
use us in accomplishing
HIS Purposes.

HOW DO I FIND TRUE PURPOSE IN LIFE?

Psalm 40:8 . . .
“I take Joy in doing Your Will, my GOD,
for Your law is Written on my Heart.”

Ecclesiastes 12:13 . . .
Here is my final conclusion:
Fear GOD and obey HIS Commands,
for this is the duty of every person.

** Meaning in life comes from Obeying GOD
and doing HIS Will.

"Then HE said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and see my hands.
Put your hand into the wound in my side.
Don’t be Faithless any longer. Believe!”
28 “My LORD and my GOD!” Thomas exclaimed.
29 Then JESUS told him, “You Believe because you have seen me.
Blessed are those who haven’t seen me and Believe anyway.”
(JOHN 20:27-29)

The Amount of Faith isn’t as Important
as the Right Kind of Faith-
Faith in our All-Powerful GOD.
