Our Reverence for GOD should keep us from sinning.
Leviticus 22:32 . . . Do not treat my Holy Name as common and ordinary.
I must be treated as holy by the people of Israel.
It is I, the LORD, who makes you Holy.
Respect for GOD means that we show reverence for HIS Name.
EP.4:32 - Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.![]()
James 5:16
"Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.I posted this elsewhere, but I think it fits here too!
You know what, last night when I opened my Bible, the words I first saw were these;
Numbers 10:36
Return, oh LORD of the ten thousand thousands of Israel.
Then a bit later, when I read the devotional for Monday...it led me to 1Thessalonians. In the preface notes, it said,
"It is significant that every chapter in 1Thessalonians ends with reference to the second coming of Christ....Paul wanted them to be ready for Christ's coming, to live in a way that reflects the work of the Holy Spirit in their lives, enabling them to control their bodies so that they will continue to be pleasing to God.
The book of 1 Thessalonians reminds us that it is easy to take an extreme position regarding the end times...either to become obsessed with them, speculating on dates and events... or to be skeptical and disregard it all. Paul shows us, however, that we are called to believe and be ready."
