Sharing Email

you opinions on the following will be highly appreciated. Should we be sharing our email passwords with our partners?

Reckon it depends on your defintion of 'partner' Spouse's? Why not?
My wife has all of my passwords simply because I've nuthin to hide, an if she wants to go look at sumthin by all means have at it. If I refused to give er my info then the devil is liable to show up an start plantin seeds of "what's he got to hide", "he must be up to no good", so I drop kick the devil in the gut on that one.

The only time I've run into a slight problem, is when I wanted to git er sumthin that I didn't want er to know bout, but I've found that to my knolwedge, she doesn't go lookin through stuff anyways so it's really not that big a deal.

We share our passwords also. There's times when he's needed me to check his mail for him...though I've never needed him to check my email he knows my password (least he should...I've told him it enough times!). We've nothing to hide from each other so don't see why not.

Alright, on a slight tangent, how do people feel about a husband and wife having the same email account? An acquaintance of mine just got married this summer, and when she did, she closed all her old email accounts and the only one they use is their combined one. Is that weird? Is that totally normal?

I really don't see any harm in it. My husband and I know each other's passwords, but we don't read each other's mail without permission though. At any rate, there is absolutely nothing in my e-mail inbox that I would hide from him.

My parents do that too, if I'm sending a message to their email I know that I am talking to both of them. They rarely communicate via email though, so it works better for them.

My wife and I simply have our own communications that we do, and the inbox would be too congested if we both shared one, so we do have our own accounts. Her family knows that they are talking to her, my friends to me, etc.

We do know each others' passwords, and that's normal, and completely open. We also only have one checking account, both share the online password to that and both go online and check it regularly, one combined savings account, etc. No secrets!!

It happens alot. I know several people who do this.

As for me, my hubby doesn't have all my password for my email account, it's my university one and therefore doesn't contain interesting information. I generally use my hubbys email for personal stuff.

My husband knows my passwords and I keep his email. He only keeps an email address to get newsletters from the NY Giants or to write emails to the NY Giants. He's not much of a computer guy.

My husband and I share our email account. My husband has many friends that are girls, and me, that are guys. We don’t think it is healthy to maintain “private” social correspondence with people of the opposite gender. So when they email us, they email both of us, and vice versa. We think it keeps things in the open. We do have separate accounts for school/work, but we know each others passwords for those, anyway.

If my wife wants to look at my emails she's quite welcome and knows my passwords, but she trusts me enough to not bother, and vice versa.
