So I have a hindu friend and we have discussed vegeterianism. I told him about vegeterian Christians and showed him a site (which gives reasons why Christians should be vegeterians or at least defends vegeteriansism among Christians).

He expressed interest in attending an SDA service, and I would like him to be impressed. However, I am not sure if he would appreciate the style of service that I attend generally.

So not sure what I should do... I imagine he would like a contemplative service better, and the one I attend is generally louder and more active.

But I know that all adventist (and even all Christian) services aren't for all adventists (Christians).

I go to one that has sometimes been inspirational for me, other times frustrate me, and that has the preaching begin (Generally) after noon. The last bit is pretty important.

I understand your mindfulness on this. What's important is to honor the interest expressed by your friend - regardless of where you choose to go. I'm sure you will choose the best way.

Does sharing Jesus Christ factor in? What are the aspects of Jesus Christ that you find winsome? Perhaps you can start there?

We went last Sabbath, it was a youth week and the pastor was a great young man (age 22 or so).
The sermon was about Samson and resisting passions... good subject and well presented (Although I was a bit concerned because my friend wasn't familiar with the story and the preacher skipped around a lot).

I do sometimes wish that there was more preaching about the life of Jesus Christ, however, I will take preaching from the Bible any day (especially good stuff). I have been to some churches (both SDA and not) where there might be some text and then the whole rest of the preaching has no biblical references (and this is mostly not the EGW people either, as I generally don't go to their services).

I have no clue whether he will desire to read more or ask me questions, but I pray that I will be able to be used if he does so.

He reminded me a little of when I went to the Sikh service (but I was maybe a bit more uncomfortable, because I didn't speak the language and didn't know what was going on, and was just a friend of a friend), which is to say interested in another's practices more than the beleifs.

Hi JonMiller,

The greatest impression you will have on your friend regarding Jesus Christ is you. By this I mean, the way you live, act and hold up the standards of Christ and His character. As you know, there are many SDA churches with various worship styles. But your friend does not mingle with the people who attend these churches, he mingles with you.

I encourage you to let your personal light shine for Jesus and, as the Word says if you lift Christ up, your friend will be drawn to the Savior no matter what.

Pray for your friend's salvation, and ask God to show you how to witness to him in ways that only God knows will win his heart to the Lord.

Keep fighting the good fight of faith as you continue to witness to your friend.
