I’ve learnt from the past that letting people control you through manipulation or fear are the worst things that you can do to yourself. People can’t dictate your purpose or commitment to God. It’s for God to do. Not to develop your life is suicide. Listening to the wrong advisers is sure defeat. Not walking in the Spirit all the time is death. Giving in to the flesh is the road to defeat. Not having friends is a chance for emotional deficit. Get from under abuse. Unsuitable people as friends will harm you. All problems stream from not knowing or not applying the Word in your life. God doesn’t want me to control other people.

A few of them:

1. I don't know nearly as much about God and the Christian life as I think I know. In fact, I don't really know much at all about anything.
2. The older I get, the less I know.
3. Pride is probably the hardest sin to overcome.
4. Other people are not constantly thinking about me. In fact, they probably almost never think of me at all because most are too busy thinking about themselves.
5. I'm unbelievably selfish.
6. Humility is the door to growth.
7. God gives wisdom to those who ask Him.
8. God is far kinder, more merciful, and loving than we ever imagined.
9. Prayer accomplishes more than anything else we can do in this life.
10. One of the greatest gifts God can give you is the opportunity to be hidden with Him, to do secret service that no one else will ever know about, to worship and pray to Him in secrecy, and to be unknown and unadmired by the world.

Blessed Advent everyone!

With love in Christ,
Grace

Hi, Hot-Metal,

Please explain to me why you think life isn't fair. I am not kidding. I really want to hear.

Rupert

Simply because things dont pan out the way that people would like them to - even when a moral person who does the right thing ends up with the wrong result. That, to me, is a fact of life and something which is not going to change - you can be in the right but still suffer.

That said, I do not believe that God is unjust in the slightest. God is indeed fair.

God Bless, metal.

 Reps to you! This is really awesome and could have been written by me! I would add 1 thing, since being widowed I have learned"Don't sweat the small stuff"!
I have also learned to live much closer to Prov.3:5-6. I try to consult the Lord in every area of my life, absolutely every major decision, because He has proven Himself to me. When I try to be in control I mess up,but when I leave it in God's hands, not only can I have sweet peace, but it will work out the best. I love how we can completely trust Our Lord. Our God is such a loving Father. I Love You So Much Father.

I've learned so much that I had to publish some of it in a book entitled, "Surrendered" and I'm about to publish my second book called, "Irons in the Fire." ;)

I have learned that in truly surrendering all to Jesus, everything is then His responsibility. God takes good care of His children. We need to get to know His, to get to know His voice.

When He said to draw near to Him, and that He would draw near to us, He meant it.

Living close to Him,
Ann
