I've always been a little worried about my work up on the boards, but here is one. Sorry about the color, I took it with my phone. She is pretty big, and its only part of the painting, and years ago it was front and center at the art show. I was proud to see her there, she made me smile a lot.

And the other one sitting in my room. =)

Thats so awesome you are a musician.

Oh how I always wanted to be a musician growing up. I asked God to make me an artist or a musician and He made me an artist. I'm happy about it and I love it, but I just want to SING and create awesome music....but I can't.

I too dreamed of being a musician when since I was like 6 years old. I would listen to Eddie Van Halen doing his solos and try to mimic them on my acoustic.. but ultimately secular music can be a quite dangerous business to be in a for a young Christian. I don't mean the drugs or questionable morale sometimes seen in the scene, really the biggest struggle is all the self-centredness and pride it can bring if you are not careful. People will go crazy for you and it can lead to all kinds of troubles.

Not for all of course, but for myself it did. I noticed ultimately that I only practiced to show it off to somebody, I had forgotten about that genuine passion and playing was just a stale thing, trying to achieve something BY playing, not playing for the love for it. A huge life lesson for sure, a true eye opener. It was one reason why I left my band and had a 5 months break from playing..but man, does playing feel ever so good now.

Speaking as a non-musician I can understand and have seen so much of that. So much of my local favorite bands have lost their spark cause they completely forgot what they were doing. There was too much ego and how many women they had around their arms. It simply bothered me going to their shows so I just stopped. I wanted music, but all I saw was a glass of chardonnay in his hand while singing, and a half naked woman on the other side of his arm. I didn't get it anymore.

As an artist, I also understand the egoism. I have always been very shy and very reserved about my art. I don't like showing to people. When the first one got into the art show, I was nevous, scared, and honestly I did not want to go to the opening. But, when I walked in and saw her right in front, I had forgotten I had painted her. There was another painting that got into that show and I think its one of my best ones. I remember the night when I was painting, I had to leave. When, I got home a couple of hours later, walked into the kitchen and somehow felt jealousy of the person who had painted the picture. Its sort of silly to feel jealous of your own work, but I remember my professor saying he had done that too many times with his own, so I did not feel as bad or self-centered as I suppose.

I'm glad to hear you are playing again. You should share your music with us.

Also, today will go down in history as the first time I wore pink (at least since elementary school). The guys demanded photographic evidence.

It's a few sizes too big, but pink nonetheless.

Lunchy-- DEER! I love deer.... so much so that I ate one. I didn't know I was eating deer, mind you otherwise I wouldn't have eaten him. Haha!

Maybe I will I've been doing some classical guitar style lately with my electric.. I'm quite a novice in fingerstyle playing at this point, but it's nice to get some variation from all the rock stuff. Too bad we don't have a "share an artistic contribution" thread

TY! Not sure what it is. Looks green some days, blue others. One DMV lady wanted to change me from blue to green. They oddly get bluer the happier I feel. Or at least, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
