Canada did exist back then, just as England's pet nation..... and in reality neither side won the war of 1812...... both paid a high price in blood and it ended in a truce.... Canada still pays homage to the British in words, if not in obedience any more.......
However, with our crummy military here, we need their allegiance, and to abolish the monarchy may turn out disastrous. Heh... I say get rid of the constitution and become a colony of Britain again! or not....
