In the book of Proverbs, chapter 15, verse 1 (NKJV), we will read the following:

"A soft answer turns away wrath, But a harsh word stirs up anger."

This is a good thing to remember, especially when you're on a forum such as this.

The Lord is stirring me up to pray more and to pray His word back to and over myself as I am reading daily...just thought I would pass this on...

Yes, my flesh is weak and I like to sleep but I am trying to overcome those weaknesses in Him.

Read with me in Revelation 3:20-21:

"Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne."

When God guarantees such wonderful things as these, He doesn't back down! Isn't that a most beautiful thought?!

Communion often reminds me of a practice I learned several years before coming to Christ.
In the Snowy mountain region (and other areas) lambs are born in the early spring; almost the coldest part of the year.
During birth a number of ewes die giving birth, leaving orphan lambs: Also a number of lambs die at birth.
To cut the losses somewhat, farmers will put an orphan lamb to a sheep who's lamb has died. At first the ewe will refuse to take the lamb, because she realises it is not hers, so the farmer will skin her dead lamb and drape it over the orphan, on smelling her lamb the mother will accept the orphan and suckle and nourish it.
This is a lot like coming to Christ; we are clothed with His righteousness, and God no longer sees us, but sees Christ instead and accept us.

That is an interesting illustration, because our Lord did have to suffer and die before we could be clothed in His righteousness...

Here's an absolutely LOVELY passage, found in Mark 11:20-24:

"Now in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. And Peter, remembering, said to Him, 'Rabbi, look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered away.' So Jesus answered and said to them, 'Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, Be removed and be cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.' "

A little lesson on forgiveness can be found in Matthew 18:21-35....

"Then Peter came to Him and said, 'Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?' Jesus said to him, 'I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven. Therefore the kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. And when he had begun to settle accounts, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents. But as he was not able to pay, his master commanded that he be sold, with his wife and children and all that he had, and that payment be made. The servant therefore fell down before him, saying, Master, have patience with me, and I will pay you all. Then the master of that servant was moved with compassion, released him, and forgave him the debt. But that servant went out and found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii; and he laid his hands on him and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me what you owe! So his fellow servant fell down at his feet and begged him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay you all. And he would not, but went and threw him into prison till he should pay the debt. So when his fellow servants saw what had been done, they were very grieved, and came and told their master all that had been done. Then his master, after he had called him, said to him, You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you begged me. Should you not also have had compassion on your fellow servant, just as I had pity on you? And his master was angry, and delivered him to the torturers until he should pay all that was due to him. So My heavenly Father also will do to you if each of you, from his heart, does not forgive his brother his trespasses.' "
