It was Southern Baptist Evangelical. I know the tendency is to try and analyze how I believed and whether I believed correctly, but that's really not the issue. I dabbled in Catholicism, Presbytarian, and other denominations, but ultimately the question arose as to how we knew what was being taught, how we knew any of it was true and why the bible stories don't align with reality, yet we're told to believe it's all true and accurate.I know there are very many types of churches/practices, having visited a lot of different churches. Is that type you mention one that practiced specifically "Love your neighbor as yourself" (and "love one another"), and when you say "practicing" does that mean you did that -- loved everyone? It's kind of radical, I think. I think that "few" do that. But often I think 'practicing' might mean instead entirely other things like church attendance, so I'm asking from genuine interest see.
I feel like this is some kind of insult. Whatever. You are comfortable at ground zero
I feel like this is some kind of insult. Whatever.
Right, because whales evolved from land animals. We have the fossils. Seals have lungs too. And manatees. And dugongs. And dolphins.Yes but whales have lungs, not gills.
And according to evolution doctrine, lungs developed on land.
Nah. I disagree. It works just fine for me.Not true enough religion … is still better than nothing
Nah. I disagree. It works just fine for me.
... yet we're told to believe it's all true and accurate.
How tiresome. We ARE animals. But I suspect you mean some kind of amoral savage, rudderless without any guidance from a god or religion or philosophy, yeah?Do you care if you become an animal… ?
But I suspect you mean
Right, because whales evolved from land animals.
It happened. I was told not to learn "wrong" things or question things that went against the doctrine. Evolution for one. When I deconverted I felt free to actually explore and learn what the science actually said instead of the caricature presented by pastors and youth ministers. In all seriousness -- and kudos to you for not saying it -- I have to give you credit for not saying what I thought surely was coming.
To wit, "... yet we're told not to ask questions."
I don't know how many videos I've watched now, where someone "deconverts" because they had questions they wanted to ask their pastor, but was told to SHUSH.
Um, okay.I mean becoming stuck in the animal realm
For countless lives
We ARE animals.

I did not say that. Not sure why you put it in quotes. And the size isnt the issue. It's the structure and physical traits of the animals.I know the doctrine.
I just thought it was something you might have missed mentioning, when you said:
"Fossils indicate that big sea creatures were around before any significant land animals."
Already you cannot appreciate the truth.
Again, I'm feeling like this is an insult. Why do you keep doing that?Already you cannot appreciate the truth
Neither can a dog
That man doesn't have a soul, yet somehow keeps coming back to work out his karma?
