  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

There may have been many of these discussions before so please link me if that's the case.

I recently stopped having sex with my girlfriend and have recommitted myself to Hashem, but I have a question regarding Sexual Immorality as a whole.

We still kiss, touch and everything else as well, is it immoral in His eyes for me to get oral sex?

It was hard for me to stop having sex,and this would be hard as well, possibly harder:o

I actually expect conflicting opinions and views so please elaborate, with scripture would be great

Anything that makes you legalistic seems like a mistake, since Jesus' approach was to reject the legalism of the Pharisees and others and to look at people's intent and the effects of their actions. I'm worried that you're looking for a loophole, a way to do something that has the effects of sex but somehow doesn't count. I think that's morally dangerous. My concern isn't the question itself. I'll leave that to you and the young adults whose opinion you presumably wanted. My worry is that surveys suggest that young people have a tendency to do it because it feels like sex to them but they convince themselves that it somehow doesn't count as sex. I.e. they're looking for a loophole. Please make sure that isn't what is going on.

Well, if you are still having oral sex you didn't really stop having sex :) Sex is designed by God to happen between a husband and a wife. Anything outside marriage is sexual immorality.

Why did God design it as such? Great question! If you really think about it, there are a lot of possible outcomes that can happen because of sex (pregnancy, std, etc). When sex happens in a marriage between two committed people, then these consequences go away. Pregnancy? Well, you're married start a family. STD? Won't happen since you both are monogamous.

Yes, it's immoral to have oral sex. I think you already knew the answer. As far as touching go (I dare to go further: even kissing), whatever is not pure, should not be practiced. In case of touching or kissing that brings arousal or is driven by/provokes lust, that is. Especially prolonged kissing.

Don't just see it as a serie of No-No-No-No. Go for purity. Go for holiness. Go for loving God. That's the clearest path to do what is good.

If it's something that would get you arrested if you did it in public, it's probably too far.

I think this is a very good guideline. Keep it PG. Some people even choose to not even kiss until marriage, to make it easier to remain pure. As Joshua Harris said in I Kissed Dating Goodbye, purity is more of a direction than a single line point.

I've been in two serious relationships as a believer. The first, we never kissed. Things remained Godly in our physical relationship. The second? We kissed early on. Things went down hill quickly. If I am blessed to be courted again in the future I will be very careful about where the lines need to be drawn.

While granted, I don't like the idea of people having sex outside of marriage (for the only reason being that a lot of the time it doesn't make the relationship special any more and could hurt the relationship), I generally do not mind. And I even support the LGBT community (while I myself am straight)
