What do you people consider it to be? Back up your view points with biblical verses and give an explanation. Please, limit this discussion to one post per person. I consider sexual imoorality to be what I understand porneia to mean ... idol worship thru sexual intercourse with temple prostitutes.

Sexual immorality is sex/pleasure outside of love (or consent). Meaning adultery, prostitution, pornography, and the like.

Sexual immorality is sex with someone not your spouse. It would include adultery, fornication, homosexual sex, bestiality, incest. I can list the verses if you would like but they've been pretty well spelled out.

One key component of sexual immorality is anything that God considers "unnatural"...

Romans 1:24-27
26For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; 27and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.



Notice below that sexual immorality and homosexuality are considered separate sins, however, both are considered unrighteous:

1 Corinthians 6:9-11
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

The clear message Paul states here is that since we are a "new creation", we no are no longer in bondage to these sins. We have overcome them. So if you are truly in-Christ, these sins above should convict you to a point of hating to do them, (unless you decieve yourself).

Sexual immorality is all fornication outside a faithful/man woman marriage as is adultery the breaking of the union sexually. (Genesis 2, 19, Leviticus 18 & 20 etc) Matthew 15 & 19, Mark 7 & 10, Ephesians 5, Colossians 3, Galatians 5, 1 Corinthians 5-7, 1 Timothy 1, Romans 1, 2 Peter 2, Jude 1, etc.
