Great, the problem is it seems that a few folks see any disagreement as boiling down to "Im right you are wrong", and thats an extremely superficial look at a discussion with 2 POV's.
I rarely if ever have seen that here, while some see it daily. Things are incredibly subjective which is to me why discussion is so interesting. Where one sees "Im right you are wrong" another sees an exchange of ideas

O.K Cons I agree with you ..I know things can and have gotten to a point of exaustion seemingly even without realizing..each is pounding in a point over and over..as if it wont end utill someone says "your right Im wrong"..

But I have noticed..even going slightly off topic to say "I agree but with ths part here its not so in my opinion blah blah"..its zoned in on and it starts "stop the negativity" this isnt a "debate" ..your off topic"..

So its not that you cant agree that its pointless..to try and argue till someone "gives in" ..its that the way some would have it...you might as well keep a piece of tape over your mouth....say nothing ..unless you say after someone post...

That's a great point, Dallas. It's almost as if there needs to be this complete agreement in one "corner"......or the person is banished to the "other side of the ring" as the "opponent". This all or nothing mentality, is what I'm noticing (what Cons said, expecting there's only 2 possible POVs).........and trying to divide people into teams (again....JM perception). If you agree with most of what one person says, but have an "add on" thought or maybe a different way of looking at something.........well, that wasn't in the SOP for that "team"....so, you must belong in the other "group". I guess I just don't get this "gang" mentality that *seems* to be occuring.

As it relates to the OP here, I can see some point being made that people debating extremely nuanced and personal POV's on sex can be a bit off putting, as it has started to be for me. I have been in the thick of those, and started looking them now from outside and cant find any value in my adding to debates about sex. It may well be that in a vacuum everyone should agree on sex, but its not and never will be a vacuum, so, for me (meaning IMO) its not a valuable exercise to debate that topic any further. Its getting that way about lots of topics. Look at the recent umpteenth foray into submission going again.....funny thing I notice there are one or two posters who never participate at all until that comes up, as if the only thing important in their walk and life that gets mentioned here is to make sure they get heard about submission.
Its another one that likely bears little fruit in debating.
The 5 untouchable topics all have that going for them

You make excellent points, and I'm going to start a separate thread to address them, because it would be off-topic to the OP.

Ugh. Seriously. If you have something to say, say it, but don't unnecessarily, and immaturely, lengthen a thread or make it unnecessarily boring by repeating every post you agree with, verbatim, with multiple appaluding smilies.

Kinda like I just did. :)
