Sewing For Babies

Hi there.

I was wondering if there are others that like to sew for charity organizations focused of providing baby items for newborns at hospitals?

I am involved in the Dallas, Tx chapter of Newborns In Need and love it. I get to use my skills and hobbies while making a difference in our community. We make receiving blankets, shirts, hats, quilts, afgans, booties and more for the more than 16,000 babies born at Parkland Hospital each year.

Anyways, just wondering if anyone else participates in this kind of charity. Also, if anyone is interested in more information about the national Newborns In Need or the Dallas Chapter, please feel free to email me at nin_northdallas@yahoo.com

Stephanie, that's such a wonderful idea. I've never heard of anything like that in my area (Tennessee), not that I'm all that great at sewing anyway , but what a wonderful way to be an example of Christ to others.

I don't do anything "official", but my mom is a nurse in the Neonatal ICU in Wisconsin, and I make quilts for her unit.
