In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Dear Jase,

Jesus loves you so much beloved. He has so much love for you and wants you to call to Him now. He has open arms for you. You are not alone dearest one.

See if you will take some time to spend reading His word today. Take the quiet time to be with Him in the scripture. You will not be alone there if you pray while you read. Let the Word speak to you and lead you to pray to Jesus.

He loves you and I know that He can help you through all of your depression.

I will pray for you too. :prayer:

I need some major help. I'm suffering from severe depression due to chronic loneliness. I really have no meaningful relationships with anyone other than my parents, and I know that that isn't going to change anytime soon if ever due to some major insecurities.

I'm like pulling my hair out and gritting my teeth, in constant tears i'm so overwhelmed. And this isn't something new. I've been suffering with this off and on for 8 years.

I pray constantly asking God for help over and over, but not matter what I do, he keeps ignoring me. My faith is dangling by a thread. I just don't know how to keep holding on like this when God will not help me in anyway. I just don't understand what he wants, or what I'm doing wrong. Why is it so hard to get a meaningful response for God? Why can't he just come out and talk to me about my problems; give me some reassurance that he will help? Why all the mystery and vagueness?

What are you supposed to do when you are completely hopeless, no one in the world can help you, and not even God bothers to care?:sigh:

I hear you friend!

I tell God exactly how I feel, and I let myself feel the feelings... have you ever considered taking medication? I also recommend to look into self help books on increasing your confidence, because not being able to make friends is a confidence issue. There was a time when I felt so overwhelmed by the tasks I wanted to do, but felt so inadequate to do. And when I prayed about them God began to lead me in taking baby steps... to not look at the whole picture thinking I had to solve it, but rather focusing on one little thing at a time. Maybe that would help you. For me it was cleaning my house (no, don't laugh at me:) )... I was so powerless, I'd lay in a dark room mulling in anxiety and self disdain while the dishes laid piled high, feeling lonely but keeping curtains closed hoping and praying someone would not pop up unannounced because i was soo ashamed and embarassed... And the lord EVENTUALLY (this did not happen in one day) taught me how to plan out the cleaning in steps... like : first- put clean dishes away, second- put dirty dishes in dishwasher, 3rd- throw away trash (after take the full trash out if needed) 4th, make a place for each paper and miscellanous item that made it's way into the kitchen... and before long it seemed a whole lot less intimidating....

I could go on and on, but for now I just encourage you to see how you can apply the above to your own life. I've learned to tackle the problems one by one instead of feeling overwhelmed and powerless by them all at once. For you it might be- first- by self help book, 2cd- schedule appt. with doctor/psychiatrist... and go from there. And if these tasks seem overwhelming to you then break them down or tackle them step by step.... like ID what it is about that one single task that is holding you back and figure out a solution... sometimes it helps if you SCHEDULE a time for yourself to get it done so you don't keep putting it off... I know that is a big factor when you feel powerless... like "where do I start with going to a doctor and what if I don't have insurance?" Well, I'd look in the yellow pages, call them up and ask... be honest "i'm new at this, how does it work, how do I pay for this if I don't have insurance.." and you'll be pleasantly surprised at the wealth of knowledge they have.... This is just an example, I'm sure if you thought about it you could find a way to personalize it. I hope this helps. God Bless!

I can not say I understand for that would be the farthest from the truth. I do Love you and life is not hopeless. Where there is breath there is hope.

I want to offer you some scriptural assistance.
Phil 4:6-9
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Dearest Jase,

I can totally empathize with you, as I am recovering from a "breakdown". I was in hospital first for 2 weeks and home for one week and then back in again for a further 4 weeks.

It has been a long journey to recovery, and know still have yet a bit more to go. Please (if you haven't), do seek professional help and Trust with all your heart that the Lord is and will be there with you, every step of the way.

Be patient (I know it can be hard), but it will pass - just baby steps - one day at a time Jase, or even....hour by hour. Remember - you are NOT alone - I am holding you close to my heart in prayers as we travel this road to wellness, it will be okay for us sufferes of this debilitating illness. Trust, have faith & believe!

Hi. I'm trying so hard to have faith and believe. I just wish God would meet me half way at it. Not being able to physically talk to God has to be one of the most frustrating things when it comes to God and faith for me. We spend our entire life learning how to socially interact with people, and converse, and yet we have to develop some uncanny ability to perceive sublte nuances and hints in order to perceive God trying to talk to us. Ya know, when you are in seemingly neverending pain with something you have no control over and no one on Earth can help you, all you want is just for God to come sit down next to you, put his arm around your shoulder and talk to you. :(

God has not forsaken you, He couldn't, He loved you before time began, He loved you so much, that His beloved and only Son died for you. If you were the only human on earth, God still would have sent His Son just for you. So don't look for God just feel Him. He is there right now, holding you next to His heart, just waiting for you to look up and into His eyes of love.

Abba Father, I thank You that You loved us so much that You sent Your Son, Jesus, to die for us and bring us home to You. I praise You and worship You for You alone are worthy of our praise. When I cannot find enough words to praise You my heart will sing and my soul will shout praises to You. Even in the storms of life and when our minds shout how unworthy we are our hearts and souls sing praises to You. Bless this young man, place Your hands upon him, and keep him from all evil. In Jesus name I pray, Oh Lord we are poor with nothing to bring to You expect the name of Jesus. :prayer:

Lord God... Your child cries out to You... bring peace and comfort, and a friend.

In Jesus' name,

Amen and amen.

If you want someone to talk to... you can PM me or get me on Yahoo or MSN anytime... I am going through a lot of loneliness right now too because I am not able to see my wife, so you aren't as alone as you think you are.

May God bless and keep you in all things, Jase...

Hi there again! Believe this or not -- but I can understand what you are saying. However, please know that depression clouds everything for us, we just find it so hard to see any good but this is the time that you have to try even harder to believe and have faith that not always will be this way.

I still struggle with my anxiety Jase, but I am taking baby steps, just one day at a time and I rejoyce when I have a good day and then "try" to deal when the bad one comes.

Please accept the following poem, and also my prayer.

A Poem Of Faith

When everything looks down
And you don't think
you can hang on much longer
to this world that drags you down
You feel like closing in
and just letting it all end
You want to give up now
because nothing else will work
But hold your head high
and just keep fighthing
don't give up!
you will see in time
why you must hang in there
it will be all worth while
Just look onto the brighter
days ahead waiting for you
just keep hoping that
everything will be ok and
have faith in our God
to help you out and HE will.
Just keep wishing for
the brighter days
and they will soon
be on their way
Why give in and give up
Why lower your head
and start to cry
why wish your life away
why wish you could find a better day
when you don't want to give in
just a little hint from me to you
believe and have faith
and your dreams will come true
But until the times
when you see that bright light
hang in there with hope
and everything will be all right.

God loves you Jase :)

JAse, know that GOd has and will go past half way every time. He is just waiting for us to catch up.

Hang on you have many praying for you. God hears our prayers
I appreciate all the prayers, but so far God hasn't answered any of your prayers either, since nothing has changed. He may hear our prayers, but does He answer them? Apparently, not often.:sigh:

Well, my depression has been with me for 8 years. The struggle causing the depression, however, has been with me my whole life. Short of a massive, 1st Century type miracle from God, I will be forced to live with this for the rest of my life.

I still struggle with my anxiety Jase, but I am taking baby steps, just one day at a time and I rejoyce when I have a good day and then "try" to deal when the bad one comes.

Thank you for the poem Tiffany. Not sure I can really agree with the "have faith and your dreams will come true part". I'm sure we can both agree, most dreams don't come true. In my case, none of my dreams have ever come true, nor does it look like they will.

People keep saying God loves me, but I see no indication of that. No loving parent would let their child live their entire life in unbearable agony when they have the power to help.

The answer is in Gods timing not ours. There have been many times i have asked for something and wanted it "immediatley". I did recieve it but a a later date. WHen I reflected on it had I gotten it when "I" wanted it, it wold have been wasted or of less affect.

Having fiath means your willing to wait on God, and know it is his timing that is important as he can see the begining form the end. When we begin dictating timing of God we actually can hinder what God wants to do for us. Its like tellig God what to do instead of asking him and being patient and waiting on him.

He Loves you more than you will ever know. Wait on him. He will do what you want, being impatient is a demonstration of a lack of faith. Believe me the answer is on the way.
