If Jesus was talking only about His body in the statement to Mary--"I have not yet ascended to my Father."--then you believe His Spirit went directly to heaven to be with His father?? What about the believe some people have that He went to hell? It wasn't His body, so then His spirit went to hell? Well then, the statement at the cross "today you shall be with me in paradise" would still not be true.

The Lord’s Supper

22 While they were eating, He took some bread, and [j]after a blessing He broke it, and gave it to them, and said, “Take it; this is My body.” 23 And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, and they all drank from it. 24 And He said to them, “This is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many. 25 Truly I say to you, I will never again drink of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.”

Which proves what exactly? It doesn't specify when He would drink it new in the Kingdom of God...

Watch The Lamb - YouTube

Watch The Lamb lyrics

Walking on the road to Jerusalem
The time had come to sacrifice again
My two small sons, they walk beside me on the road
The reason that they came was to watch the lamb

And they said, "Daddy, Daddy, what will we see there?
There's so much that we don't understand"
And so I told them of Moses and father Abraham
Then I said, "Dear children, watch the lamb"

There will be so many in Jerusalem today
We must be sure the lamb doesn't run away
And I told them of Moses and father Abraham
Then I said, "Dear children, watch the lamb"

When we reached the city, I knew something must be wrong
There were no joyful worshipers there, no joyful worship songs
And I stood there with my children in the midst of angry men
Then I heard the crowd cry out, let's crucify Him

We tried to leave the city but we could not get away
Forced to play in this drama, a part I did not wish to play
Why upon this day were men condemned to die?
Why were we standing here where soon they would pass by?

I looked and said, even now they come
The first one cried for mercy, the people gave him none
The second one was violent and he was arrogant and loud
I still here his angry voice screaming at the crowd

Then someone said, "There's Jesus", I scarce believed my eyes
A man so badly beaten, He barely looked alive
[- From :WATCH THE LAMB Lyrics - RAY BOLTZ -]
Blood poured from His body, from the thorns upon His brow
Running down the Cross, falling to the ground

I watched as He struggled, I watched Him when He fell
The cross came down upon His back, the crowd began to yell
In that moment I felt such agony, in that moment I felt such loss
Till a Roman soldier grabbed my arm and screamed
"You, carry His cross"

At first I tried to resist him, then his hand reached for his sword
So I knelt and took the Cross from the Lord
I put it on my shoulder and we started down the street
The blood that he'd been shedding was running down my cheek

They led us to Golgotha, they drove nails deep in His feet and hands
Yet upon the Cross I heard Him pray, "Father, forgive them"
Never have I seen such love in any other eyes
"Into Thy hands I commit my spirit", He prayed and then He died

I stood for what seemed like years, I'd lost all sense of time
Until I felt two little hands holding tight to mine
The children stood there weeping, I heard the oldest say
"Father please forgive us, the lamb ran away"

"Daddy, daddy, what have we seen here?
There's so much that we don't understand?"
So I took them in my arms and we turned and faced the Cross
Then I said, "Dear children watch the lamb"

John 20
24 Now Thomas (also known as Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. 25 So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!”
But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”

Christ the Lord Is Risen Today (Lyra)

The angel said to the women, Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; He has risen, just as He said. Matthew 28:5-6
Christ the Lord is risen today, Alleluia!
Sons of men and angels say, Alleluia!
Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia!
Sing, ye heav’ns, and earth, reply, Alleluia!
Love’s redeeming work is done, Alleluia!
Fought the fight, the battle won, Alleluia!
Lo! the Sun’s eclipse is o’er, Alleluia!
Lo! He sets in blood no more, Alleluia!
Vain the stone, the watch, the seal, Alleluia!
Christ hath burst the gates of hell, Alleluia!
Death in vain forbids Him rise, Alleluia!
Christ hath opened paradise, Alleluia!
Lives again our glorious King, Alleluia!
Where, O death, is now thy sting? Alleluia!
Once He died our souls to save, Alleluia!
Where thy victory, O grave? Alleluia!
Soar we now where Christ hath led, Alleluia!
Following our exalted Head, Alleluia!
Made like Him, like Him we rise, Alleluia!
Ours the cross, the grave, the skies, Alleluia!
Hail, the Lord of earth and Heaven, Alleluia!
Praise to Thee by both be given, Alleluia!
Thee we greet triumphant now, Alleluia!
Hail, the resurrection, thou, Alleluia!
King of glory, Soul of bliss, Alleluia!
Everlasting life is this, Alleluia!
Thee to know, Thy power to prove, Alleluia!
Thus to sing and thus to love, Alleluia!
Hymns of praise then let us sing, Alleluia!
Unto Christ, our heavenly King, Alleluia!
Who endured the cross and grave, Alleluia!
Sinners to redeem and save. Alleluia!
But the pains that He endured, Alleluia!
Our salvation have procured, Alleluia!
Now above the sky He’s King, Alleluia!
Where the angels ever sing. Alleluia!
Jesus Christ is risen today, Alleluia!
Our triumphant holy day, Alleluia!
Who did once upon the cross, Alleluia!
Suffer to redeem our loss. Alleluia!

  1. I serve a risen Savior

  1. He's in the world today.
I know that He is living,
    Whatever men may say.
    I see His hand of mercy;
    I hear His voice of cheer;
And just the time I need Him

    He's always near.
    • He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today!

    • He walks with me and talks with me along life's narrow way.
He lives, He lives, salvation to impart!
You ask me how I know He lives?
      He lives within my heart.

[*]In all the world around me

    I see His loving care,
And though my heart grows weary,
    I never will despair;
I know that He is leading,
    Through all the stormy blast;
    The day of His appearing

    Will come at last.

    [*]Rejoice, rejoice, O Christian,

Lift up your voice and sing

    Eternal hallelujahs
    To Jesus Christ the King!
The Hope of all who seek Him,
The Help of all who find,
    None other is so loving,
    So good and kind.

What is going on here ChrisCarol? ECR just made it crystal clear that the Scriptures teach that Jesus did not ascend to Heaven until he was raised from the dead. Did He or did He not say to Mary the morning of the resurrection, Do not touch Me, I have not yet ascended to My Father."

Of course the divinity of Christ did not sink and die on the cross but nevertheless the man Jesus did not ascend on High until after the resurrection.

It seems there is an influence on this board as on every adventist board to make of none effect the truths for this time.

Is that just a figment of my own imagination? :)

In death there is no consciousness until the resurrection.
This the Scriptures make crystal clear.

I testify of what the Bible says. It really makes no difference only in your(SDA) eyes, so that your doctrine can be proven to unsuspecting persons, true. I have said it doesn't matter to me when I go, what matters is that I am going. Why? Because I believe what the Word of God has instructed me. And again I say ONLY THE WORD OF GOD!

I guess a better way to say it after accepting counsel from my Lord is; I don't have anything to prove I have everything to testify of.

Was the Word of God given to you personaly or through men that were divinely inspired?
