There is no secret "rapture."

Jesus returns only once to destroy the wicked, resurrect the dead in Christ into their immortal bodies, change the living in Christ into their immortal bodies and usher in the kingdom of God on earth [New Jerusalem.]

This, the second coming of Christ, can happen at any moment. Those who are waiting for anything else to happen first, will be totally caught off guard.

Both are found in Gen.29:20, in which the seven year week is based upon of Dan.9:24-27. Are there any more questions you have abut what I have written?

Jacob worked seven years in return for Rachel, but the years seemed like only a few days to him because he loved her. JPS Tanakh 1917. And Jacob served seven years for Rachel; and they seemed unto him but a few days, for the love he had to her.

Both are found in Gen.29:20, in which the seven year week is based upon of Dan.9:24-27.

The summary of Daniel 9:24 is found fulfilled by Christ during the first century in the texts below.

Dan 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

Heb 10:16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; (see Jeremiah 31:31-34)
Heb 10:17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
Heb 10:18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

Act 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

From the 1599 Geneva Bible, which is the Bible the Pilgrims brought to America.

Dan 9:27 And he shal confirme the couenant with many for one weeke: and in the middes of the weeke he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the ouerspreading of the abominations, he shall make it desolate, euen vntill the consummation determined shalbe powred vpon the desolate.

Daniel 9:27
And he (a) shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to (b) cease, (c) and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

(a) By the preaching of the Gospel he affirmed his promise, first to the Jews, and after to the Gentiles.

(b) Christ accomplished this by his death and resurrection.

(c) Meaning that Jerusalem and the sanctuary would be utterly destroyed because of their rebellion against God, and their idolatry: or as some read, that the plague will be so great, that they will all be astonished at them.

The subject of my post you quoted was for the purpose of reveling the Biblical source for Dan.9:24-27 being set forth in 7 year periods, referred to as "weeks." Which has nothing whatever to do with your above interpretation of Dan.24.

I think you all are forgetting what Lord Jesus said. He said it would be as it was in the days of Noah. Most people do not actively THINK about what happened then. We see a world full of horrible violence with even the very thoughts in men's heart was evil CONTINUALLY. We see Noah as the only one who had our Father's favor. We see Methuselah dying and we see our Father telling Noah that the flood was coming in seven days. Our Father is the same yesterday, today, and forever. IMHO we can deduce from the His actions before the flood, and from what Lord Jesus told us, that He will act in a like manner in these last days.
Gen. 7:4 For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.

Gen. 7:10 And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.

Scripture tells us that it is written for our learning.
Romans 15:4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

You want to keep in mind, my dear, Jesus ministry in His first advent was exclusively to Israel, He made abundanly clear in Mt.15:24 and in Mt.10:5-6. The Church did not exist then, because the Holy Spirit had not yet arrived, according to Jn.7:39, until at Pentecost, ten days after Jesus ascended into heaven, according to Ats 1:9 and acts 2:1-3.

Blessings

The coming great tribulation will be in accord with the great Passover supper. Jesus speaks of the "days" of the great tribulation. "Except those days...", "In those days, after that tribulation..." "it will be like the days of Noah..."
Jacobs trouble will come when all of Israel will have come to Jerusalem, at one of the 3 required times to be there... Passover, Pentecost, or Tabernacles. Passover, makes the most sense, because of what historically happened. The death angel came...If you are not in a place of safety, covered by the blood, when it begins, it will be too late to flee when it does begin.. keep your eyes toward Jerusalem during Passover times.
Verse list:
Isa 31 KJVWoe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD! Yet he also is wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back his words: but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the help of them that work iniquity. Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the LORD shall stretch out his hand, both he that helpeth shall fall, and he that is holpen shall fall down, and they all shall fail together. For thus hath the LORD spoken unto me, Like as the lion and the young lion roaring on his prey, when a multitude of shepherds is called forth against him, he will not be afraid of their voice, nor abase himself for the noise of them: so shall the LORD of hosts come down to fight for mount Zion, and for the hill thereof. As birds flying, so will the LORD of hosts defend Jerusalem; defending also he will deliver it; and PASSING OVER he will preserve it. Turn ye unto him from whom the children of Israel have deeply revolted. For in that day every man shall cast away his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which your own hands have made unto you for a sin. Then shall the Assyrian fall with the sword, not of a mighty man; and the sword, not of a mean man, shall devour him: but he shall flee from the sword, and his young men shall be discomfited. And he shall PASS OVER to his strong hold for fear, and his princes shall be afraid of the ensign, saith the LORD, whose fire is in Zion, and his furnace in Jerusalem.

There can be a surprise catching away. Those who are repentant and come to Christ are in him, and judgments on the unrepentant in this world for their wickedness and rebellion will not come to those in Christ who bore everything for them. But all of us could be here facing troubles in this world from the problems coming about from our way of living still, there isn't promise that we are to be delivered from any of that.

There will be greater surprise at how much collapse there is when Mystery Babylon falls.
Lord Jesus said that time will be worse than any time that has ever been. Can anyone on thi forum even imagine how bad it will be?

As pertaining to your example involving Genesis 7. That's a bit different as to why God needed to tell them in advance like this. It's not like, once the ark is built, that they can just board it with all the animals at any time they please. Let's say they do that, but that they don't know in advance when this flood will initially begin. So they then board the ark with all the animals, except God is not planning to send this flood until 2 years later, for example. Obviously, it would be ludicrous for God to not inform them when it's time to board the ark.

But what does that have to do with beginning of great tribulation? For one, Noah's flood was not involving tribulation, it was involving judgment. Therefore, you're comparing apples to oranges.

I don't know what point you are trying to make here over all, since it is obviously reasonable why God said what He did in Genesis 7, and how that might relate to the great tribulation prior to it beginning?

It means....Our Father is the same, yesterday, today and forever. He does not change.

I can imagine ways it can really be bad, but I can't say all the ways in full it will be bad, and I don't want to be imagining it much. I already know believers who are God's people are not supposed to stay in Mystery Babylon, they aren't supposed to even be there at all, and I speak to have any I can go out from cities to be on land away from those with, for growing things and becoming independent with that. With collapse and systems failing and adequate fuel becoming scarce, starvation in cities where people get stuck will spread quickly, desperation will grow and violence and homicide will be everywhere as everyone tries getting anything for still eating, while options disappear. It would truly be ugly. We are warned but getting out is up to us, rapture is not promised to spare us from that. There will come a time believers are caught up to be with the Lord, before the judgments from God on the unrepentant are coming.

no, because the instructions Jesus gave were more or less signs leading up to a point, the Abomination of Desolation, after which He told those in Judea to immediately flee. Which means that other signs might not be recognized as having been truly signs until the AoD. So there will be things like a world government and some guy coming into power over the whole world, who's to say that's specifically Antichrist? It might be the 2nd or 3rd or 4th world government afterall.
It is the AoD that reveals this is the real deal.
In fact, Revelation 17 suggests that the beast is ruled over by Babylon at first (the harlot rides the beast), and that the 10 kings destroy Babylon and then put the beast in power.
So the beast himself is not the first ruler of the world. The Babylon world government happens first.

We are possibly looking at the stage setting for Babylon with the UN's plan for 2024 where they can designate something as a global crisis and take sovereignty from all the nations, the WEF great reset, etc. It's possible.
The Beast will possibly destroy that.
But we won't know for sure until the AoD, which Paul says reveals the man of sin.

Everyone has their guesses at what Mystery Babylon is, that some are really sure of for what they stick with. But there isn't any accountability with those. I mean, if they are right, what difference does it make to us? We don't have to do anything different. If they happen to be wrong, they can't compensate you if you were deceived with what they were sure was right. I look at the reality, and I don't see anyone saying it is what I see, but I can't unsee it, even if no one changes from those guesses they believe in. With what I see, we really are accountable. It is up to us what we are going to do. Mystery Babylon will collapse and fall first, ahead of the other developments. God's people should have gotten out already. If they didn't, maybe God will really have supernatural motivation for them to flee out, when it is late. If I managed already, and you flee then, where would you go? The collapse will be everywhere, you can't go to another city. You might come to where I settled. What will I do about it? I did something about it in that case ahead of that, while you and anyone would have dismissed it, and now you want shelter there. Well, I am not a heel, and would not say I told you so, because for one thing I wouldn't know who you are. I would just let you know what to agree to, and let you work with those of us there where we grow what things we need for continuing, sustainably. Prophecies will yet necessarily be fulfilled. Survivors still greatly want further civilization. They will follow anyone who seems they would restore civilization from what remains from the collapse. The one who is described as a beast will lead many with his promises, but what he would have coming about will really be godless, and have all following agree to all that it involves. Godly people should not leave their sustainable small settlements on land where they have good stewardship, to join that. Tribulations will come with it, and it will end with God's judgment on them, but real believers who repented will be caught up to be with the Lord, God's judgment that is coming is not for those in Christ who bore what was from God's judgment, for them.
