There's a goofy site that has me "apparently believing" the following; and I want to set the record straight here:

1. At one point everyone in the world spoke English.

This is correct.

2. That the mention of unicorns, dragons and behemoths in the Bible poses a problem for evolution.

It poses a problem for evolutionists.

3. Cratering was the result of a battle between angels and demons.

This is correct.

4. Unicorns were aboard Noah's ark and gave birth to different species of animals.

I no longer believe this.

5. Leprechauns exist as a manifestation of demons.

This is correct.

6. The Earth was the first planet in existence.

This is correct.

7. Peer reviewed articles on evolution should be disregarded because they weren't reviewed by Jesus.

I don't know where this comes from.

8. Human beings are not Homo sapiens.

This is correct.

9. Nero persecuted Christians for reversing the Earth's poles.

That was a joke; as was my Noah's Ark being a submarine thread.

10. Pangaea was actually Eden.

This is correct.

11. The three main rock types are "indigenous, megamorphic, and sentimental."

That was a joke.

12. Noah lived in present-day New Jersey.

This is correct.

13. That the dictionary is wrong in defining Christianity as a religion.

It is both a religion and a relationship.

14. Religious wars never occurred.

I don't remember saying that.

15. "Evolution teaches a monkey gave birth to the first human."

This is correct.

16. Atheism is a polytheistic religion.

This is correct.

17. Strong's Concordance is "a tool of Satan."

This is correct.

18. People should be proud of their own ignorance.

I'm changing this to: People should not be ashamed of their own ignorance.

19. Science is unreliable because of new discoveries.

This is correct.

20. Anything that contradicts the Bible is wrong by default, including real life.

This is correct.

This is somewhat correct. I claim I refuse to accept that I am a Homo sapiens. However I acknowledge that Homo sapiens is just a term on paper, and I respect the right of others to label themselves as such.

That was a joke; as was my Noah's Ark being a submarine thread.

I may have said that at one time, but I've since softened up on that. I claim that, just as weight occurs when gravity is resisted, religion occurs when Truth is resisted.

Edit #2 then.

Why ? I quoted it exactly as it was posted when I quoted.

Are you already changing what you're saying?
I thought you didn't like anyone changing what you post?

2. That the mention of unicorns, dragons and behemoths in the Bible poses a problem for evolution.

It poses a problem for evolutionists.
In what way? I'm an evolutionists, and I can't say the Bible's claims are at all troubling or problematic.

16. Atheism is a polytheistic religion.

This is correct.
What are my deities, then? I'd like to know who to dedicate my infant sacrifices to :)

If atheism is the lack of belief in gods, and a polytheistic religion includes a belief in gods, isn't that a contradiction? It's like saying "You, a bald man, have a full head of hair" - we instantly know that's false because the two are mutually exclusive.

17. Strong's Concordance is "a tool of Satan."

This is correct.
Why? Isn't it just numbering each word in the original texts for cross-referencing?

19. Science is unreliable because of new discoveries.

This is correct.
If it's unreliable... why does it work? Coincidence? Satan? Demonic leprechauns?

Cryptozoology isn't a problem with you?

Mother Nature, the sun, DNA -- anything that replaces God as a final explanation for life.

For example: the sun drives photosynthesis, which nourishes plant life on earth.

If you can't go any higher than the sun as the sustainer of life (credit-wise, that is), then the sun is your terminal point; making the sun your god.

Yes, but I'm giving you guys the benefit of use of that term.

Technically there's no such thing as atheism.

That's why God calls them "fools," not "atheists."

Strong's Concordance is much more than that. It is a book of etymology and a dictionary as well.

It works to a point.

Like trying to go spelunking with a candle; it'll eventually leave you in the dark.

Science is unreliable in explaining God.

Or my favorite descriptive term: myopic.

The theory of evolution doesn't say that an ape gave birth to a human. Nothing ever gives birth to something outside it's species. The whole species slowly changes.

You say people should be proud of ignorance, and Noah lived in New Jersey. Are you joking? Am I misunderstanding this thread?

Not really. If there was a breed of horse that had horns, so be it.

I don't believe in gods, therefore I'm an atheist, therefore atheism exists. What part am I getting wrong?

Strong's Concordance is much more than that. It is a book of etymology and a dictionary as well.
Is that bad?

Hard to know where to begin with all this, so let's start with unicorns:

1) to what other species did the unicorn 'give birth'? Horses? Zebras? Rhinos? Narwhals?

2) why did the unicorns from the ark become extinct?

3) why did God give these unicorns a tusk/horn when he designed them?

You can start with punctuated equilibrium ... God's way.
1) to what other species did the unicorn 'give birth'? Horses? Zebras? Rhinos? Narwhals?
Sounds good to me.

Didn't you mean genus though, instead of species?
2) why did the unicorns from the ark become extinct?
What kind of question is that?

Should they still be around after 4500 years?

Or are you talking about unicorns in general?
3) why did God give these unicorns a tusk/horn when he designed them?
I give up -- why?

Do you mean that God accepted evolution?

Sounds good to me.

Didn't you mean genus though, instead of species?
Not really, though I admit to listing genera. But good to see you applying some rigour to this debate :p

Also, is that list exhaustive? I mean, I just thought of those 4 off the top of my head. Surely coming up with stuff off the top of one's head is not a good way to build a belief system? Is it?

What kind of question is that?

Should they still be around after 4500 years?

Or are you talking about unicorns in general?
In general. Or did they only give birth to other species?

I give up -- why?
I can't help you here. I am an atheist regarding unicorns, as much as I am regarding God.

Really?

Just taking one of these things, do you really believe that everyone in the past spoke English? I am assuming you mean back in the Garden of Eden or something. How could this possibly be true? English has changed even over the last two hundred years or so. What we speak now is not the same English they spoke back in 1800. And the English that was spoken back in 1300 was pretty much unrecognizable by today's standards. If the people back however many thousands of years ago spoke English, what are the chances that the English we speak today just happened to turn out the same?

A Bible commentator -- and I can't remember who it was -- once stated that the language of the King James Bible is a Heavenly language; not even spoken by the English in the 17th century.

I have claimed that Adam & Eve spoke Jacobean English, but in light of this comment by the aforementioned commentator, I'll go either way.

Let's just say for now they spoke King Jamesese, which is sufficient to make my point.

In defending it as Jacobean English, I have contended that said English was lost at the Tower of Babel, and began a slow comeback to culminate in the time of King James I of England.
