The intense search and money spend looking ET life was EVIDENCE of ET life?
Oh my goodness...
No wonder you guys don't accept scientific evidence. You don't even understand what the word "evidence" means!
On the contrary. Have you read Ezekiel?
The chariot of fire, shaped like a big wheel, that comes down from above the clouds and takes Elijah away in a beam of light?
Or how about Exodus... where *ahem* Moses *ahem* parts the sea and God travels with them, providing shade by day and light by night before settling on the embankment... Where Moses goes in and and comes back out with the commandments. If that doesn't scream Stargate....
Well, they could be right. Others determinately will not have so many Christian denominations. That makes us unique.
That's true, on the one hand. But on the other hand, there is an extremely high probability that life (even, intelligent life) on other planets exists. The probability that we will ever find evidence of it, however, likely remains small especially using systems like SETI.
I agree with you. Tell that to the Christians who say we're unique in the universe.
If you saw a crowd of people standing around you might consider that as evidence for something even if when you go there you find nothing. The intense search and money spend looking ET life was EVIDENCE of ET life?

Like going to church seeing people praying to something invisible? If you saw a crowd of people standing around you might consider that as evidence for something even if when you go there you find nothing.
Consider the crowd standing around at SETI as evidence for something (ET life) even if when you go there you find nothing.
I tend to think we are unique because: #40
Good point.
Now go find me some extraterrestrials!
Maybe the entire universe was made for man and we are presently in the process of preparing for it by how we conduct our lives here on little earth:What faith guardian said. While we can't say for certain there are or aren't extraterrestrials, it is a reasonable assumption to think that it is likely. When you think about how big the universe is, and how many earth-like planets there probably are (from a statistical standpoint), the thought of extraterrestrial life is not that absurd.
If there are extraterrestrial civilizations out there it is highly likely that many of them were around far longer than us and are far more intelligent and technologically advanced than us and would be capable of contacting us by now. But they haven't. Probably because they don't exist.Based on the size of the universe, it is unlikely human life will ever make contact with another civilization. We haven't been on this planet very long as a species, and given the propensity of the earth to host various extinction events, the likelihood of us making contact before we become extinct is probably pretty low. We (or the other civilization) would have to find a way to transmit information or travel around the limits of the speed of light, either through wormholes or something we haven't been able to comprehend yet.
Maybe the entire universe was made for man and we are presently in the process of preparing for it by how we conduct our lives here on little earth:
Jesus told His disciples..."Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?" - Luke 16:1,10-11.

... you then make this doosey of a comment:Life only exists in short bursts, and it does not sustain itself for very long. Any changes in the planet have drastic effects on life. Plus, the sun has a finite lifespan.
They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but you're looking for diamonds in a trash can.I truly feel sorry that you have to shackle yourself to the limits of the imaginations of ignorant goat-herders from our species' neonatal period instead of embracing the beauty and harshness of reality.
