  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Part of this has been posted on the prayer request forum but I also need advice. I am believing that God will do a miracle here and I need to know what to do next. When we get the kitty out of the tree (see below for details) should I take her to the vet right away? What might be possible complications of her being in the tree? (BACKGROUND: The service animal is a cat. My 10 year old son is autistic and he uses her to communicate. She is a 7 month old kitten, old enough to get into trouble but not old enough to get out. We are in the Pacific Northwest. These are not little trees. Rather she has climbed up to the top of a Pine that is about 50 feet tall. And she’s at the top. Animal rescue said that most cats will come down on their own but because of her young age and her lack of outdoor training (she is trained for public places, cars and doctors appointments) she will most likely not make it down on her own at this point. She also appears confused, dehydrated and cold. We have contacted a tree logger who will be here in the morning. Faith's situation is precarious. The pine tree she is in is actually about 50 feet high and she is only about 5 feet from the top. She has been in the tree now for about 24+ hours. Faith is cold and wet. It is raining pretty hard off and on here and the temperature is expected to be 55° tonight. She has stopped meowing so much now, probably to conserve her strength and energy. I have been up all night with Maggie (our service dog) trying to talk her down but we have been told that kittens need to be rescued, they do not climb down on their own. Rather, they go higher. She has. Please, please keep us in your prayers. However, it was a miracle that we located a friend who knew somone who does logging. He is getting her out of the tree as an act of kindness and wants no money. Please pray this man and his family be blessed and he is safe when he goes up to get her. 50 feet high is a long way... Thanks and God Bless all... )
