Hey All, I just got a call from one of my campus ministry group leaders and they want to interview me for a position on the servant team next year. I was kinda like oh wow and im not really sure if I wanna do it even though It would be good for me. Kinda a big commitment and responsibility. God hasnt shown me anything really big lately and maybe this is my shot to improve myself. opinions anyone?

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
Servant Team?

When Jesus was telling off the Pharisees, he said "The greatest among you will be your servant. For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted". We already have a a hunch you are great 72_Chev_Truck, are you prepared to become a servant?

i was in the same position as you but for a different sort of ministry. i thought that it's christian, i wasn't doing anything, it was big so if i put two and two together, this is perfect. it turned out to be a big mistake. my experience wasn't exactly horrible, and probably taught me to pray a lot harder... and not just listen to the feelings i want to hear.

thats the thing, i dont know exactly. it has something to do with planning, a lot of meetings and stuff. i have an interview on monday so maybe ill know more then

Well, wouldn't hurt to find out more about. Maybe after finding out what it involves, that will help you decide if it is a ministry you would like to get involved with. Maybe this is something new God is leading you to do, perhaps for a break from the worship band you were a part of. Could explain some of the feelings you were having about that.
