lets look closely at this fantastic sermon!!
Matthew 5:1-3

1 When Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a hill and sat down.
His followers came to him, 2 and he began to teach them, saying:
3 "Those people who know they have great spiritual needs are happy, because the kingdom of heaven belongs to them.

Good News Translation:
1 Jesus saw the crowds and went up a hill, where he sat down. His disciples gathered around him, 2 and he began to teach them:
3 "Happy are those who know they are spiritually poor; the Kingdom of heaven belongs to them!

I think the key words are “who know” Every person is spiritually poor. The person who knows that is blessed cause they seek out GOD

New Living Translation:
1 One day as the crowds were gathering, Jesus went up the mountainside with his disciples and sat down to teach them. 2 This is what he taught them:
3 "God blesses those who realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is given to them.

Are you a disciple of JESUS? If so then the sermon on the mount was given especially for you. This ain’t baby food. This is meat; this is meant for you to learn how to live the Christian life

Matthew 5-7 is the conduct you need to keep in order to be accounted worthy to escape the hour of the trial of the Tribulation by being raptured to the throne beforehand and to receive the reward of reigning with Christ in the millennial kingdom.

why are those that morn blessed?
my theory is that those that mourn love others.

here is the Message's translation: 4 "You're blessed when you feel you've lost what is most dear to you. Only then can you be embraced by the One most dear to you.

NKJV: Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth.

Living Translation: God blesses those who are gentle and lowly, for the whole earth will belong to them.

The Message:5 "You're blessed when you're content with just who you are - no more, no less. That's the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can't be bought.

what does this mean to you? how do you live it in your life?

KJV: Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

Good news translation: "Happy are those whose greatest desire is to do what God requires; God will satisfy them fully!

it is definately my desire to do what GOD requires!!

The Message: You're blessed when you've worked up a good appetite for God. He's food and drink in the best meal you'll ever eat.

thank you for doing the sermon on the mount. i like the way the NLT puts it especially, who realize their need for him. its too easy sometimes to rely on ourselves well i find that personally at times.

oh wow, the message version is amazing isn't it

really like the message version on this one too, still have a ways to go on being completely content, getting there...

at the moment i'm trying to renew my mind afresh with who God made me to be in Him and acknowledging His wisdom in how He made me just as He wanted me to be, to do what He designed me to do. A lot of work to do that but thats how i'm trying to live that one out.

man, hard question!

does that mean if we don't show mercy we don't receive God's mercy?

sigh i dont show as much mercy as i should, its too easy to fall into judging others and that comes with the same condition doesnt' it, as you judge so you will be judged.

may the Love of God immerse me to love others in the way He does, honestly because i can't and wouldn't love on my own.

I'm pretty demanding of people, I know that. When mercy is givin it always seems to be on my terms. Hard questions, yes.

i've been thinking... do I have any right not to show mercy?

that it is disobedience not to show mercy when I have been shown mercy, when it cost Christ so much to show me mercy when i - a sinner could care less about Him, He still showed mercy.

maybe we throw it back in His face when we do not show mercy to another.
