Set medical science set back a generation by this? Oh, come on, Obama.
By the way, Hawaii is not a part of Asia.
Nobody really can predict the full impact of the "sequester," but in politics perception is everything and 2/3 of the country currently predict it will hurt the economy with 45% putting the blame on the Republicans/Tea Party - as opposed to 32% pointing the finger at Obama. Two in three Americans say sequester will hurt economy

Roughly two out of three Americans say that automatic spending cuts set to trigger Friday will have a major negative effect on the economy, according to a new public opinion poll. And more would blame congressional Republicans (45 percent) than President Barack Obama (32 percent), the non-partisan Pew Research Center found in its survey.
..... The White House and its Republican opponents have stepped up their war of words over sequestration. The president describes the looming spending reductions as catastrophic (though independent analysts sharply question his rhetoric), while the GOP has alternately tried to blame him as the person who first proposed it (Congress voted to approve it) and played down the overall impact.
The two sides are profoundly at odds with how to replace it – Obama wants a blend of spending cuts and tax hikes, Republican leaders have flatly rejected any tax increases. The public, meanwhile, basically backs the president but can't figure out what it wants to cut.

The Republican are praying a dangerous game given that less than 4 months ago, Obama won the 2012 Presidential by a substantial margin - and with the country continuing to side with his interpretation of the facts.
Should the American economic recovery stall in the future, the conservatives in their infinite wisdom have succeeded in providing the President with a ready-made excuse - by allowing themselves to be manoeuvered into the unenviable position of becoming the designated "fall guys!"
This Round goes to Obama by 45 to 32!
As the voters go to the poll the sequester will devestate the Republican partyThank goodness, as long as Obama is protected from himself by the LIVs. Cuz, cutting 1 or 2% from the increase in spending is going to devastate this country.
As the voters go to the poll the sequester will devestate the Republican party
As the voters go to the poll the sequester will devestate the Republican party
And suddenly we find a large group of liberals, like Obama, hoping that sequestration is devastating to the economy so that they can maintain their hold on power. Obama will do what he can to make this worse than it really is. Notice that in anticipation, he is releasing criminal illegal aliens in Arizona rather than cut waste in government.Yes, the only goal of dreaming it up. IT'S NOT LIKE HE SHOULD GOVERN OR ANYTHING
Or by the antice I see Cantor and Bohner do and have done for months, they remind me of used car salesmen but to each his own but the polls show that not everyone is fooled by their stubborness and I still resent the implication that Dems are lower in intelligence, perhaps you like to leave that impression?
You did say voters who were not bright enough leaving that impression. You are also paint a briad brush seeing that polls show a majority of americans blaming the Republicans
Somehow I dont think soI believe polls about as much as I do fortune tellers, which isn't much. I think you're assuming there are insults where there are none, much like you assume I care for Bohner. And yes, if people believe it's the Republicans plan/fault, then they're rather ignorant of the truth.
First of all, that is not likely. Second, is that the goal? In what way does the nation benefit by ignoring trillion dollar deficits and refusing to reform entitlements? It seems to me that taking the position of "it doesnt matter whether it is good or bad so long as my side wins" is incredibly short sighted and will only lead to larger problems in the future. $85 billion in cuts is nothing, but to hear Obama on the subject, you would think the world is coming to an end. But his dishonesty is supported for nothing more than short term political gain at the expense of long term national loss.As the voters go to the poll the sequester will devestate the Republican party
Ok I will accept that and ask you did Obama get all his program? If he did then I would say it is his fault. Case in point, Obama wanted to tax higher those making over 250,000, did he get that or did he get a half measure? There are facts and then there are facts like the Republicans saying he got his tax increase but in reality he didnt
I get how the Pied Piper of Panic might benefit politically from peddling this phony argument, but how does it in any way benefit the country? When even such minor cuts are successfully portrayed as impending doom, what chance is there to ever get spending under control? His cheap political victroy will come at a very high price. This administrations handling of the situation, summed up in one picture:

Ever thought about closing tax loopholes such as breaks for the oil companies that make obscene profits at our expense and dont tell me how poor their profit margin is when they can make 20 billion in a quarter. How about other tax breaks, how about defense since we are bringing troops home, how about the pork projects? I can think of a lot of things to cut without touching entitlements although that will have to be affressed. To bad when tjey were raiding social security theynever thought of this and to bad they dont put the money back so the seniors would not have to sacrifice what they earned.Except he already got his tax hikes back in January, now he wants to raise taxes again...
Fact of the matter is you could tax everyone making over $250,000 at 100% and it wouldn't make a dent in the deficit.
This is basic math psalms 91, all that happens when the government gets more revenue is they spend it on some new program. Fact of the matter is that the sequester isn't even a real cut, it's a reduction in growth...
I know you'd like government to be able to do all these things, however you need to get something through your head:
1. WE DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO AFFORD IT, AND RAISING TAXES WOULDN'T GENERATE THE REVENUE TO FUND IT AS IT IS!
2. There are a lot of things government shouldn't be handling to begin with.
The problem is entirely due to entitlement spending, not military spending, again this is basic math.
Btw, considering how the media is pushing to blame Republicans, and Obama would look bad if nothing bad happened from the cuts, it would actually be in his best interest from a political standpoint to make sequestration as painful to the American people as he could.
