I wasn't aware that Obama can stop the sequestration if Republicans are set on going through with it.

Let's be fair here, Republicans were eventually willing to comprise on tax increases on the first part of the fiscal cliff negotiations. I think it is time that the President and the democrats now work with the republicans on a compromised alternative set of cuts.

This is a two way street, and you have made it clear that there is to be no reasoning with you over the military budget, yet I did not come on and claim there is no reasoning with you. You want to make this personal? Well it is obvious that people tend to defend government involvement when the matters hit close to home. You are biased in this discussion because it affects your life if the military is cut. Deal with it. We, the taxpayers who are overwhelmingly civilian, pay your salary. If it bothers you perhaps you can step away from the government teat and get a private sector job where capitalism will make you a wealthy man.

I am trying to demonstrate that he, just like others around the country, get emotional about government cuts when they hit close to home. He seems to be trying to defend his refusal to want a military budget cut on a sense of patriotism when he has already admitted that the cuts will affect his job making it harder.

Regardless of where the cuts occur, civilian jobs will be lost. That is my point and it was ignored.

What do you mean? The sequester is supposed to cut discretionary spending across the board by 8.2%, which includes some entitlements. They will cut 3 billion just from public housing support. Do you even know the details of the sequester?
