  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

For those out there who use editing, what are your views on this (sepia-ing an image)
Personally I think that it gives most images a certain undefinable quality of coolnes
This shot was taken by me :D and is my first attempt at a panaramic pic, personally I like the sepiad one better. What do you all think?

I'd have to say that this isn't a particularly good subject for sepia. Sepia (or grayscale) emphisizes shape and form in light, while colour emphisizes differences in colour). In this picture, there's very little form -- there's not really any subject. In the colour picture, I find myself admiring the beautiful colours against the sky. In sepia, however, my eye keeps getting brought back to the tree in the bottom left corner.

If this were a panorama of a farm, sepia might bring out the light farmhouse or the cattle against the trees where a colour photograph brings out the beautiful colour of the sky. As there's no real subject, I don't think sepia is a good idea here. Of course it's just my opinion in THIS case, but most of my comments apply universally -- not just in this case.
