Sente's ban

I know we are not suppose to do too much commenting on mod decisions. But I must agree with the other posters in the prog area over Sentepente's ban.

I too am shocked to hear this. Yes-I get annoyed at many of his posts and have even had to report him on occasion. But I really don't think he deserved to get banned.

It's like Avonia said, seems that others would have been gone way before Sent.

Sent---If I had thought that you would were going to get banned, I wouldn't have reported you. Oh sure--I wanted the mods to spank you for some of the things you said--but I didn't want you to get the boot. SORRY!

Instead of starting yet another new thread (we have SOO many of them each day), I decided to use this thread to express my thoughts.

I see that Night says he is expecting another ban. Now I have no idea what is going on in the reports thread, but if what he is saying is true as to why he is getting banned again, then I think it is unfair.

So far, especially in the 'meat-eaters' thread, I haven't seen him say anything worthy of an RV. He and I disagree vehemently on this issue and I think he over-reacts, but as I said, I see nothing there to draw an RV for.

So for what's it's worth Night, on this one thread at least, I think you got a raw deal.

And I think it would be long overdue. His post's in that thread alone should be enough to get him 86'd for a a bit. His reactions in that thread had nothing to do with the thread title. His "taking offense' was out of place simply because no one was being attacked or disparaged in that thread, and I'm a meat-eater as well. And lastly his subsequent actions afterward were completely uncalled for because they were a clear violation of the rules, kinda like "thumbing his nose at the system" which sets a perfectly bad example for other posters.

I was RV'd for 'baiting' with my picture of the steaks and my "cold shower afterward for the bloodlust" comment:

My ban, which is or is not forthcoming any minute, was for 'arguing' with the mods in the report thread.

I question whether or not my comments in there could be construed 'arguing', but, whatever.

Well--I too have some thoughts about the report threads, but for the same reason, I'll decline comment.

The way I see it is like this. Night has a lot of trouble posting without flaming or insulting folks. It's ok to be passionate about something and even exress yourself very strongly but when you turn that passion into insultive comments onto someone individually then it becomes a flame and a rule violation. I applaud the mods for doing what they have to do. Night has to learn to not flame, it's just that simple. I just hope he does not receive a permanent ban for this. He's been banned for a long time.

Senti is another issue. Senti's posting style is to do a drive by short post that is most usually an insult all by itself. I'm not sure that is what has gotten him into trouble but the way he argues and flames some of the mod's can't help his case either. Once you draw attention to yourself in that manner it will come back to haunt you. IOW, they watch every thing he posts. Just my two cents worth.
