God will not put you into that torture chamber. Unless you walk in on yourself.
Yes, you do not have to walk into that place. I was like you, and I changed my direction.

You mean, if you can force yourself to believe in something you can't reconcile with reality?

Again, you have to determine to go to the Lake of Fire in order to have it happen. God will NOT put you there unless you insist to go. The Lake of Fire is a place prepared for bad people. There are a lot people who admitted that they are bad person: "I am bad, so what?" God says: OK, have it your way.

I think that torment doesn't = torture if one deserves punishment it surely cannot be considered torture can it?

No force. No need to force. Force will not do it.
Reality is reality. It means different thing to different people. No force is needed.
I see some realities more real than you can see. And I do not force myself into faith.

Well, call it what you will. It's suffering being burned alive for all eternity.

Two and a half questions:

Do you think it's moral to burn someone alive for all eternity for any belief they held? If so, what belief(s)?

Do you think it's moral to burn someone alive for all eternity for a belief which they cannot control, such as not believing in God?

So those people whose brains can't be like yours and "see some realities more real than you can see", deserve to be burned alive for all eternity?

You are not improving. God will NOT torture.
He set up a torturing chamber. Those who like to go there, get tortured.

Yes, the question is how not to go there. God is also very clear on that. One has to fight against God in order to go there. If you said to God: Hey, I don't believe you. Then you are fighting God. If you said to your friend: Hey, Christian God is fake, don't believe. Then you are fighting God hard. If you do that, you will fall into that Lake. God did not put you there, you did.

If you can't reconcile the belief with reality, it would indeed require forcing.

Either that, or you would have to play psychological games with yourself.

That's ridiculous. No one is going to like being burned alive for all eternity.

Nobody chooses to be burned alive for all eternity. So the fact is God puts people in Hell. And he is going to burn people alive for all eternity for the "crime" of not believing in him. Do you think that is moral?

I did not say that to you. I said it to bhsmte. He suggested that faith does not conform with reality.

Nobody "deserve" to be burnt. Anyone (include those who really "deserve") can stop right on the edge of the firing lake, and turn around.

No they can't. You can't make yourself believe something you don't believe.

Could you make yourself believe pink unicorns orbit the earth without evidence?

Even they are told, but they do not believe that there is such place called the Lake of Fire. So they do not fear to go toward that place. I don't see anything wrong with it.

You certainly can try. Why can't you?

[/quote]If the belief rejects the voluntary death of the person who took your punishment for you in your place and has you instead accepting the punishment you deserve instead... yes.
Do you think it's moral to burn someone alive for all eternity for a belief which they cannot control, such as not believing in God?
Are you saying that you don't choose to have faith in things (believe) that everything you believe in you can't choose? I say believing in God can be considered similar to believing many things you take for granted in life today.
Mark 9:23-25New American Standard Bible (NASB)

23 And Jesus said to him, “‘If You can?’ All things are possible to him who believes.” 24 Immediately the boy’s father cried out and said, “I do believe; help my unbelief.” 25 When Jesus saw that a crowd was [a]rapidly gathering, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “You deaf and mute spirit, I [b]command you, come out of him and do not enter him [c]again.”

You can choose to believe and pray God will help you deal with unbelief just as this man did. If you truly believed God would send you to Hell and all you needed was to accept Jesus then you would make a point to do so. The fact of the matter is you don't want to believe so instead of doing so you make God into someone/something that you can't believe in... An evil tyrant that unjustly sends people to Hell and takes joy in torturing them forever. This idea pretty much throws Jesus sacrifice on the cross in the trash as irrelevant because it is the ultimate cure for torment in hell and it doesn't require anything complicated at all to be done but simply believe.

Force won't work. It has been proven.

Force is not needed. Reality does not conflict with faith. Faithful people either do not ask question to reality, or ask the deepest question to reality. Either way, the reality could reinforce faith.

I don't doubt for a minute, that your perception of reality aligns with your faith belief. I also realize, not everyone perceives reality the way you do.
