  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If that last one is directed at me, I would just like to say that they are doing well. Thank you for your prayers. My nephew is healthy and very smart (my brother called me last night to wish me happy birthday and was telling me all of the reasons he's proud of my nephew). He seems to be all good, with no lasting effects of the head trauma. The nurse at his last doctors appointment just complained that he's very strong when he tried to resist getting blood taken.

I'll try this:

You're a sweet and pretty young woman. You are of much more value than you see in yourself and any man worth his weight in gold will someday see that.

You are an inspiration as a follower of Christ while juggling the various responsibilities you have. Your posts are insightful and positive.

I wish I knew more about you. If it's God's will, someday I will...regardless of the distance. The world isn't as big as it used to be.

I know you're still on the CF but I never see you in the Singles area anymore even though you're still single. Not sure if I offended you or what but I'd like to chat again.

(to several) I appreciate your encouragement and prayers during my various crises over the years. Even though I've never met any of you IRL, it still means alot to me that you're willing to take the time to respond to my oddball threads and frustrations.
