• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I'll try to make this short. I have six kids ages 18 - 2. I was diagnosed with depression (in 1999) and put on meds (welbutrin first then added efexor then chaned that to lexapro) that messed me up bad. I didn't figure out the med problem until a year ago. I just about jumped off of a bridge. After that I took myself off of the meds and started to feel better. I still battle the depression but the desire to die is not near as strong when the depression kicks in. That is brought on by stress or being overwhelmed. I'm supposed to buy the house we have been renting at the end of the month. I found out my wife may be sick the other day. Won't know for a week or so after the tests come back. I need a lot of prayer if anyone is willing. Writing about it helps me feel better and prayer warriors help. I just found this site yesterday. Help?

Hi, I hope you're doing better this evening. I've been depressed for a long time. Quite frankly, it sucks. I would ask you to remember that most of the things we think while under depression are clouded. I feel very close to you for some reason. I've been on meds. a long time too. I'm not sure if they're doin any good either. I do want to say, and i mean this from the bottom of my heart. You're worth a lot more
than you think you are at these times.
I pray that things will definitely turn around for you. One thing that keeps me going is, tomorrow might just be the day things start to clear up. Please feel my concern for you and your family. I'll pray for you that's for sure. God Bless You And Your Family With Strength, Peace,
And Mercy, And Comfort
Please Take Care.
Chuck.
