Self-serving prayer?

Over the past few weeks, I have been plagued by dreams of a girl in my ancient history class named Sarah. In the dreams, the two of us are always kissing.

Sarah, too, is a Christian. I have often been tempted, because the dreams bother me so much, to pray for her hand in marriage just as a way of giving myself peace of mind.

However, I never pray that way. I feel as though it would be self-serving to pray for her hand in marriage becuase there is no evidence that that is His will for my life. Yet, I have always seen in Sarah the qualities that make her a suitable person for me to spend the rest of my life with.

What should I do? Is it right for me to pray for Sarah's hand? If anyone needs more information, feel free to email me at grammar_fanatic@yahoo.ca

May even work better if you go to know her, talk to her, see what she's like a bit closer than from a distance.

Talk to her and get to know her. The Lord is not going to grant you wishes like a demonic Gini, and you're not supposedly to ask God for selfish things. So, sorry, but it is not right to pray for her hand.
You have to work hard to get what you deserve or what you want, so you just have to open seek this girl's love. Just be careful doing that.

It may be better to pray that God help you find the right person in marriage when it's His will for you to be married. (Maybe He still has some plans for you as a single person).
Who knows, maybe this is the right person for you, maybe not, maybe someday but not just yet. Ask for guidance.....and ya, try to get to know her.
