Please pray for my family and my dad. He has a lot of problems with depresion and these past few weeks he has been hiting himself in the head trying to kill himself. Tonight I heard him in the other room hiting himself so loud that we heard it over the tv. Please remember us in your prayers. We catch him doing it, and then he looks us in the eye and lies to our face and says that he wasn't.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Man depression is definitely a tough time. I should know, I went through it myself. How about suggesting it to a doctor and listen to what the doc would suggest. You should definitely not let this go one without outside help. Good luck with it all. You should also tell your dad that people around him care about him and would love to help him in any way.

May the Lord be with you father. May he find peace beside still waters as he goes through this depression. I pray he is able to have some stable Christian support to help him through this.

Dear Lord in Heaven,
I pray for LooksGood's father Lord that his anger and pain would subside. That he would stop hurting himself, that he would see it doesn't help, that he would realize he worries his family by doing this. I pray that his depression would lift, and that his problems would resolve. I pray for his family as their heart breaks over all this. Please hold them close to you and protect them all. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
