Seemingly married?

I recently had another case where someone was surprised to find out that I was single. For some reason they had thought that I came across as married. It's not the first time it has happened. What qualities would those be in a person?

Maybe because you weren't chasing after everything in a skirt, they figured you had other obligations? (I'm not saying this is how single men act, I'm just saying there's a stereotype out there... and maybe people don't get that "I'm looking" vibe from you and they interpret that to mean you've found someone already...?)

Maybe they mean that you're such good spouse material that they can't imagine you haven't been snatched up already.

Well, I actually did take it as a compliment. Perhaps settled, responsible and not desperate, although I keep my eyes open? It picques my curiosity - I'm curious about people!

Yeah, I get that from time to time as well. Interesting thing to me is that it's always some married person (usually older) that would say it. I have never had some young hot single chick come up to me and say "I can't believe your not married!"

I think as people get older, especailly after being married, they start looking for deeper qualites in someone. Their work ethics, spirituality, mannerisms. Things they are lasting and not temporal.

Many times young singles are just looking for a hot bod to hook up with, and not look for deeper qualities.
