Seeking the Light
A man and his teacher were walking through the woods in the cool of the day. The man asked his teacher, Do you have anything for me to learn today? The teacher turned and pointed, Do you see that tree there? Do you see that even though it is brown down most of its length there are green branches at the end of it. My son, he said to the man, do you know why this is? The man looked at this tree carefully and he thought to himself, Hmmm, this tree is very straight, and he is right, there are green branches that seem to reach for the sky. He turned back to the teacher and said. Im sorry I do not know why. The teacher said, My son, this tree constantly seeks the light of the sun. Do you see how the branches have grown toward the sun?
