  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Seeking the Light

A man and his teacher were walking through the woods in the cool of the day. The man asked his teacher, “Do you have anything for me to learn today?” The teacher turned and pointed, “Do you see that tree there? Do you see that even though it is brown down most of its length there are green branches at the end of it. My son, he said to the man, do you know why this is?” The man looked at this tree carefully and he thought to himself, “Hmmm, this tree is very straight, and he is right, there are green branches that seem to reach for the sky.” He turned back to the teacher and said. “I’m sorry I do not know why.” The teacher said, “My son, this tree constantly seeks the light of the sun. Do you see how the branches have grown toward the sun? From daybreak to sunset, this tree seeks the light of the sun. Learn and understand the lesson of this tree. Like this tree, man must learn to seek the light of The Lord.”
