  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hey fellow singles...how much time do you spend seeking God in a given day? Do you pray? Do you worship? Do you read the bible?

This is kinda an informal poll to confirm/deny something I heard.
I don't necessarily keep track of time it's sporadic through out my day...a min here, a min there...but I TRY to do it daily...of course I not always do it...I slack off sometimes...and I think it happens to us all...but I'm TRY'N to, ok maybe not as hard as I should, but I'm trying to be more disciplined in that area...

I'd like to answer but I feel I can't. Maybe God just wants to keep that between me and him or maybe because it may cause me to struggle with spiritual pride (not that I'm amazingly great at my time with God or anything) but yea, I keep trying to get myself to type the words and can't. Sorry, guess my time alone with God is just that, my time alone with God.

I will say this, I think it is very important and so rewarding and worthwhile to get to know our Abba Daddy in Heaven. Give him whatever time you got, he'll always appreciate it and always have time for us.....wow, God is sooo awesome.

PRAISE YOU JESUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For me...to be honest, I haven't been spending nearly enough time with God lately. I pray everyday but not very long.

Having 10 minutes of heart felt prayer to God is better than having one hour of repititous noisy gong that doesn't mean anything. Pray when you drive, or when you clean around the house. He is your friend and companion. That's how it should be.

Woship doesn't have to take the form of music. It's how you glorify Him in everything that you do. It could be, as simple as, running an errand for a friend. You're not singing. But because you did it, so that Christ will reflect in you, you praise Him.

I think I'm a big disappointment to God when it comes to those things, and can no longer blame Him for not giving me what my heart desires, simply because I just don't deserve them.

I don't think you are. And I honestly don't think God thinks you to be a big disappointmet. That's what the deciever would say to bring you out of the light. Deep down inside, the Lord heart aches for your presence in His life. And He wants a relationship with His precious daughter. From the day you were born He wanted a life with you. You weren't some fluke. You have a destiny with Him.

A minute here. A minute there. That's all that He needs to know that He's in your mind. It's like when you first fall in love with a person. You constantly think of him/her when you are driving, working, or just having a stroll in the park. Whether you believe this, or not, He feels loved that we constantly think of Him.

don't get me wrong, it's very important to spend time in God's word daily but it's also extremely important to talk to the Lord more than just that time you read his word: to continually talk with him in every thought and wherever you are...whatever you're doing. i'm trying to work on that. it's so hard! but, i guess it's just like changing a habit.

i read an awesome book, "The Practicing of the Presence of God." i encourage everyone to read it!! it's very humbling and eye opening. so...what are you doing? GO GET IT! (i think it's only 6 bucks).

This is kinda an informal poll to confirm/deny something I heard.

I talk with God constantly, thanking him or asking for his blessing or will even over little "nothings". But it's also important to me to spend time learning about him; I believe someone somewhere called it courting God, and I love that. I enjoy getting to know him through his word, growing in Jesus and having focused time on him. I couldn't add up the time, though; maybe 15 or so minutes a day in the Bible. Not much, but cherished.:)

Blessings,
awashinlove
