After reading this thread, I've been thinking about what exactly is defined as "lust".
I'm not trying to downplay sin, I just want to have a clear understanding of where exactly the line is, so that I needn't worry unnecessarily, but yet stop myself from crossing that line.
What I mean is, when Person A sees the girl and looks away, he is obviously not committing lust; he doesn't have anything to feel guilty about.
Person B sees the girl, doesn't stare at her, and thinks in his mind "she's attractive, but she really should wear more clothing" and continues about his way and doesn't envision sex with her, doesn't fantasize about what she'd look like naked, etc...
And then Person C sees the girl and fantasizes about her, stares at her, tries to look down her shirt, etc, etc.
Person A is probably not sinning whatsoever.
Person C is obviously sinning, no question about it.
Person B, however, is where I think a lot of Christian men fall. If it is sin, then I of course accept God's just judgement on that. However, if it is not sin... then it'd only be silly to unnecessarily worry about it (which drains our energy and gets distracting as it is so commonplace).
Just some curious musings.
