TFC Begins New Service Project
TOCCA FALLS, GA, March 15, 2006 - Students at Toccoa Falls College are partnering with the Toccoa/Stephens County community to help meet special needs in the area. Project Seedsower aims to gather resources in order to reach out and improve the community. Over 250 students have committed their time and energy towards the three day service project on April 10 -12.
Sponsored by the Student Government Association (SGA), the students hope to raise money with a mission and use every penny as a seed in this community. Not only are they hoping to raise money to help underwrite the project, but they are compiling a list of projects that they will be doing over the three day period. Some of the projects include cleaning and repairing homes, community buildings, and parks. They will also help finish the gate to the Toccoa Cemetery and to help the Boys and Girls Club.
Ashley Wagner, Special Projects Coordinator for the Student Government Association, says, The students look forward to building relationships with others and investing in the community through Seedsower. This is a new project that I want to see take root and continue for many years to come.
