Seems that WI, my state, is in the [math warning] 100(1-(28/51)) = bottom 45th percentile of states (and DC), when it comes to reporting crime data to the FBI, as 27 states and DC (28 entities total) had higher reporting rates. So < half the country is worse, and > half the country is better compared to WI on this metric.

64% of law enforcement agencies reported crime data to the FBI, and 39% reported a full year of crime data in 2022.

78 out of 122 law enforcement agencies in New Mexico successfully submitted data to the FBI through the National Incident-Based Reporting System in 2022. The agencies that reported any crime stats represent roughly 4 in 5 people in the state.

37 states and the District of Columbia had higher reporting rates than New Mexico.

In New Mexico, the law enforcement agency with the largest jurisdiction that did not report 12 months of crime data to the FBI is the Rio Arriba County Sheriff's Office, which did not report any data in 2022. According to the FBI, 32,000 people live under its jurisdiction, which represent 2% of people living in the state.

Dang, it seems that WI has a better reporting rate for crimes to the FBI compared to NM.
