  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I've really been thinking a lot about going back to school. And not to get my masters or any other degree in education. I want to study interior design or something connected with art. I'm currently a school teacher and while that has been wonderful and I've learned a lot through that and i'm good at that, i feel as if my heart isn't really there. I love kids and I love teaching but it's extremely stressful and I feel just burned out. Has anyone gone back to school to enter a 2nd career choice? I'm feeling uncertian about this and I don't want to give into fear and just end upwondering about what could have been. Anyways this is my issue for today, lol.

Hi, I say go for it. But I'd like to know what age you teach and what subject you teach which you indicate is stressful b/c i was thinking going into teaching.

P.S. But make sure while you're doing so that you pray about it to see if its God's will and you are also at the same time trying to send the gospel into the world...hee

I teach 2nd grade, 7 and 8 year olds. I think all teaching is stressful however, especially with No Child Left Behind. I dunno, I just feel like I'm doing my best and even going above and beyond the call of duty to give my kids the best education and I just end up getting blamed for the failures. Being a teacher sometimes feels like being an emotional punching bag for the kids, the parents, the adminstration, the state, the nation. I guess I'm just tired of having no support.

Well this is something i said on another thread...

Something i'm almost done reading is "The Purpose-Driven Life" by Rick Warren. Its a very good book and i believe it will help you.

But in a sentance, the book tells you that you can realize your purpose by looking at your Spiritual gifts (what gifts did God give you to help the body of Christ?), Heart (what do you love doing?), Abilities (what are you good at?), Personality (what kind of person are you?), and Experiences (what difficulties have you over come that you can help others overcome? How have your experiences shaped your life?).

As a Christian, you should be pursuing the Kingdom of Christ and storing up riches up there, not here on earth. I wouldn't say to go for the job that makes you a lot of money or the job that makes you happy... rather go for the job that God wants you to go for...

I would not say that stress is an indicator of not living the right life. It could be your job, or it could also be your spiritual walk.

If you do not know which body part you are in the body of Christ (and not know your purpose career-wise), then you probably need to draw closer to God so you can hear His voice better. Seek Him, and your answers will come.
